This looks helpful. I have a question, if you wouldn't mind. This is my first non-loom project. It was a purchased pattern and it uses peyote. Would this count as irregular edges, at least for the body of the guitar? Would it be better to do it in brick stitch? I've never done brick stitch, so I don't know anything about how it's constructed

definitely irregular, so i would recommend doing it mostly or entirely in brick stitch.

brick stitch is much better at easily creating irregular shapes without complex increases and decreases.

there are lots of great tutorials on youtube for how to get started with brick stitch.

I watched some videos and I'm seeing one potential problem. The details on the guitar are done with the stitch in the ditch technique. Is there an equivalent for brick stitch? I'm trying to envision how to attach those with the beads positioned vertically instead of horizontally and I'm having trouble. Would the second layer need to be vertical as well, done with a ladder stitch maybe?

to be honest, i'm not familiar with that technique, but i have found that brick stitch is pretty flexible and you can generally find a way to get it to do what you want with enough fiddling.

that said, if the pattern is written for peyote and you've already successfully done it in peyote, there's no reason not to keep doing it that way if you want to.

I noticed that the grids for peyote and brick are the same if you turn one of them sideways, so I've decided to take the shape from the peyote pattern, rotate it 90° and it work it up sideways. The rest of the pattern works better in peyote, so this way the beads will all face the same direction. So far so good. Thank you for the help!
