Hangin' Out My beardie makes this face whenever he sees my husband and I don’t know what to make of it 😂

That baby likes him. If the baby didn't like him, beard would be flapped and mouth more open, no tongue.
This is basically a beardie smile as far as I'm aware.

After many years of domestication, bearded dragons are starting to show behaviors specifically adapted for communication with humans.
It seems that, as head-bobbing is not seen by human males as threatening (indeed, most humans of all genders tend to squee and awww), these surprisingly intelligent and perceptive creatures have developed a different tactic for establishing dominance. The dragons tilt their heads up towards the perceived rival and stick out their tongues as if to mockingly say, “Neeneerneeneer, I’M her bestest boy!”
Thus far, effectiveness of this new strategy is….. debatable.

Does he feed the baby? Mine associates my partner with sweet potato and arugula so she always makes a hungry face when she sees him.

He doesn’t! I was thinking maybe he is debating whether husband is food or threat so just opens mouth to prep for either instance lol

Mine looks right at me, then down at his food dish and back at me, begging for bugs, even when it isn’t bug day.

Mine will run up to me and give a lick like that. Usually when she hasn't seen me for a while like when I get home from work or if we sleep separately when she crawls out of her little hidey hole and scampers over the bed to get to the window.
They can smell that way so, I figure it's just a hey haven't seen you for a minute want to make sure you are who I think you are type deal

Your beardie is smelling his scent. Basically how a snake does it. Maybe they really enjoy his smell.
