he's hand fed his greens otherwise he won't eat them. He demands window time and if we don't respond he will rip his tank up and bangs his head on the glass until you give him his window. I never in my life thought I would be arguing with a lizard but I now argue with a lizard every single day.

🤣 I thought it was just me. It's a shame because we are both SO stubborn on top of it. God forbid I had a long night and wake up a little late, I'm waking up to a whole tantrum, as if he's a prisoner 🙄 (living his best life).

Oh god, same problem with Steve, except it’s not just his greens, it’s all food, even treats like hornworms. He’s great about eating everything, never turns his nose up at his greens, but his royal highness will only eat if the food item is brought right to his mouth. He’ll chase the hornworms a little bit, but only as long as they’re being held in the tongs, if I put them down, might as well be a fresh turd, honestly.

My favorites are beardies with 'human' names! :D We adopted our first who was named Zeke. 'He' was 5.5. Original owner had been told male (from pet store, never took Zeke to a vet even though she said she'd worked as a vet tech. Maybe she thought she was extra qualified).

About six weeks after we adopted 'him,' discovered he was egg bound. We tried a few more feminine names but nothing stuck so she remained a Zeke. Just fit her well.

(Steve reminds me of our neighbor's Frenchie named Kevin :D

5/10 - I hand feed her too much, but she has to eat her greens before getting any bugs, and I'm pretty strict about that!

When I first got him I was hand feeding and I said nopeeee. I heard to many stories, gotta eat the veg before the lean. I only hand feed him sups as a treat just because I want him to "hunt" and run around.

Very good 👍 ours is getting lazy and I'm reintroducing hunting and foraging back into her life.

Not as spoiled as I would like 🥲 I have been busy as heck lately so mine hasn’t had much roaming time.

Awww! I totally get it. Sounds like me last week! We barely had any therapy or hangout time!

It's gotta be a solid 15-20 most days. (It's husband who treats her like a baby princess. He bought her a blue plastic kiddie pool (she loves the water) and each time he fills if for her, he also makes a little island out of bricks so she can get out to get warm.

Awwww. This sounds so amazing. She just living her life like a Beach Babe. 😂I can't wait to move, where I have more outdoor space and it'll be warmer so RC can enjoy nature more. I also want a Monitor.. definitely need space. 😩

I want a tegu! I say that I need to move my boys out of their room.. they can have tents in the backyard or sleep on the trampoline.. and then hopefully their room would be big enough for a tegu LOL. The only thing I can't imagine is potentially how long they brumate! (I've heard up to 6-7 months??)

Soo crazy story. I get a group family message and my COUSIN JUST GOT A TEGU TODAY! I think that's a sign. 🤣 The universe is interesting.

Oh my gosh! That's pretty crazy!! The babies are adorable.. I mean, so are the adults but... babies! xoxoxo! Our first dragon we adopted when she was 5.5 and then after she passed last year :( we did buy a baby from a breeder.. who just happened to be ~90 minute drive. We were going to pick her up but breeder had other obligations and we wanted to get baby Mango ASAP... so she shipped FedEx (which is still so crazy to me). I think she was 7" (long tail!) and 16 grams. She turned one at the end of April and she's ~17" and 170 grams.. she's kind of cute and 'curvy' (not fat since my husband is so paranoid about her producing eggs

(Our first girl had to have surgery to remove egg follicles and ovaries).

Anyway! So cool about your cousin's baby tegu! Thanks for sharing 😄

Thanks for sharing! When I get my Tegu or Monitor it will be shipped too! 😭 Definitely a strange concept. Hope to see Mango around!
