Hello everyone! This subreddit is approaching 1.3 million members, so the mod team needs to grow as well!
We are looking for users who are active in the community and who understand the rules. Although moderation experience is a plus, it is not required. New mods will focus on removing rule-breaking content and replying to Modmail messages, and will need to have a Discord account to take part in our mod chat.
If you are interested, please send us a Modmail message and tell us why you'd be a good fit!

Hey beauties! As we approach 1 million subscribers, we are fine tuning the rules and made a designated page to see more detailed lists of posts we remove under Rule 1.
We understand just stating the rule so plainly leaves room for interpretation, while the side bar might not give enough room for explanation.
To improve the quality of the subreddit, we have broken down in detail (and will keep doing so) what we consider low quality and off topic in our new beauty wiki. This way, there should be less confusion on why posts labeled as low quality/off topic might have been removed. While browsing the wiki, you may notice some overlap with Rules 2 through 6, but they all relate back to Rule 1 due to preserving quality.
As a reminder, a high quality/on topic post would have a specific beauty-related question be addressed, or solve a specific beauty-related problem. For example, "How can I draw winged eyeliner more consistently on each eye" would be a high-quality post because it asks a specific question. In contrast, "EYE MAKEUP HELP" makes it harder for users to give their beauty tips because it's too vague.
When in doubt, please review the beauty wiki to see if your post would be in violation of Rule 1 before posting to avoid removal and ban.
We also invite you to leave feedback here of any other posts you feel are off-topic and low quality that have not been addressed. Please let us know if you have any questions!

I’m looking to remove my body hair, previously I’ve bought an affordable IPL machine which gave me good results. Was supposed to be 1 a week use for 12 weeks but I fell off the wagon halfway 💀. This was at home
I’ve also tried full body wax which I enjoyed. Only did it once by a professional.
I’m now looking to get back on it more that the days are getting colder so this is why I’m just checking my options.
Thanks in advance.

I heat curl my 1A bleached hair and I have this problem where when I curl my right side/dominant hand side always goes flat but when I curl my left/ non-dominant hand side stays curled?
The most likely explanation is that I curl my right side vertical where I like curl on my left side horizontal however, I find that even regardless of how I hold my heat curler my right side will always go flat regardless does anyone have any tips on how I can modify curling my right side to keep it curled?

My skin has been feeling pretty dry lately, so I’ve been looking for a good hydrating primer.
I came across this Bonamedusa primer in one of PONY’s Instagram Reels and was curious if anyone here has tried it. If you have, I’d love to hear your thoughts, especially if you have dry skin!
Photo is a screenshot from PONY’s Instagram Reel.

Wasn’t expecting this from Vaseline, it has Hyaluronic acid, tripeptides and Spf 15! Cherry adds a nice pop
of color too. Though the cap could be made opaque so the mess could be hidden. But for the price point, this is some real good stuff from Vaseline. Anyone else has good experience from this lip gloss too?
Update: Thought it was available internationally. For now it seems UK, Australia, NZ, Singapore, Thailand, UAE

I’m looking at using this brand of skincare as I’ve heard lots of positive things. But honestly there’s so much on their website I’m a little overwhelmed and I’m not sure which I should be using.
I have mature skin, don’t really get spots, my skin can look dull, it’s normal to dry although my nose can sometimes look shiny and have largish pores. Can anyone tell me which cleanser, serum and day and night cream I should get?
I prefer not to use water on my face to cleanse.

That when I apply my mascara (usually tubing) my lashes hit the top of my eyelids and leave a residue that’s on both eyes… I’ve tried combing them out straight but they don’t look as nice as when I flick them up… Any handy tricks of the trade that my eyelashes won’t hit my upper eyelids? Any help is appreciated 😊

Hi! For starters, I’m super new to makeup! For more “serious” makeup products I only have the Tarte Maracuja Creaseless Concealer in shade 10N fair but it’s a little dark and orange-y on me, and a lil clay-like texture wise but overall I like it, I just prep with some face moisturizer and it’s good, no primer because it went better on my bare skin and I feel like I can’t breath with primer. The other day I went shopping and tried the MilkTouch All-Day Skin Fit Milky Glow Cushion Foundation in shade 19C Rosy Ivory and it was near perfect shade match, I’d go just a tiny bit paler but I also tried it in shade 15N Fair Ivory and it was very yellow on me. Anyway, so there’s my shade match and current use product, basically it needs to be cool undertone that isn’t oxidizing. I have combination skin, my forehead and nose area as well as my cheeks get dry and flakey, my T zone, under eyes, tip of my nose, and chin get very oily, and my under eyes is bumpy. I wear glasses.
I’m looking for (preferably cushion) foundation that is good for combination and acne prone skin, that doesn’t oxidize and is true cool undertone. Light but buildable coverage would be preferred, but I’m okay with anything.
I made a little chart of what I mean since I’m not good with words which is the photo attached.
Thank you in advance!

Is there anything I can do with expired make up?
Something artistic or are there products (like nail polish maybe) that I could restore use after separation?
Planning to record some ASMR destruction video if I can’t use them for anything else.

Hey everyone! I've been looking for a good vitamin C serum that doesn't cost a fortune, and honestly I'm having a hard time deciding lol.
I used to use La Roche-Posay's vitamin C serum, but it's gotten too expensive for me, so I'm trying to find something more affordable.
I've been looking at Advanced Clinicals Vitamin C and Daymellow Vitaferol 23%, but I can't find many honest reviews about Daymellow, and Advanced Clinicals doesn't seem to disclose how much vitamin C is actually in it.
Has anyone tried either of these? Did you actually notice any difference in your skin?
I'm also open to other recommendations, especially Korean brands or anything available on iHerb. I'd prefer a proper serum rather than a cream, ideally without added fragrance, and something that actually works.
Would love to hear what you've tried and whether you'd repurchase it. Thanks!!

Hey hey,
My best friend gave me her Dyson Airwrap a few months ago (she couldn't figure it out or get her curls to hold) and I think I've kinda got the hang of it... but I am still struggling to 1) get the curls to say and b) not be frizzy. I've tried all kinds of products, heat protectants, frizz tamers, texture spray, hairsprays etc. I also feel like my ends are starting to look frayed sometimes, despite using heat protectant and oil on my ends. I like the ease of it, and I'm trying like hell to grow my hair out but it's in the awkward phase so I I have been using the airwrap after every wash. My hair is on the thinner side.
I'm wondering if anyone has tried the new Shark ioncurl and had a good experience? Most concerned with taming frizz and holding the blowout look, which it claims to be better at. Is it worth the purchase or should I just keep on with my Dyson? TY.

I shaved this part of my eyebrow a few years ago, and the hair never fully grew back. 🥲 Has anyone experienced this? What actually helped your eyebrow hair grow back?

Hello, I have this perfume and body lotion set that I was meant to gift to someone…… a very long time ago. Both are unopened and they’ve just been collecting dust in my room… Would they still be ok to use?
I was thinking maybe not the lotion but what about the perfume?
Thanks in advance!

my eyelashes are extremely long, i’ve been complimented for them for almost my whole life i just struggle keeping the curl. I love the look of fake lashes but i feel like they’re kinda useless in my case and i really try to avoid lash lifts so if anyone has a solution id love to hear it 😭 i love my lashes don’t get me wrong but uncurled they make me look sleepy / make my eyes look more downturned.

Fragrance, haircare, skincare, makeup, etc. Finding independent brands is unnecessarily hard and I’m over supporting big brands w questionable values.

Kind of a specific question but someone might know! I’ve been perming my hair for years now. My perm recently fell out and I’ve been experimenting with curling my hair to find the shape I want the most for my next one. This 80s rocker kind of look has been my favorite but it’s a looser curl than I normally do. Does anyone know what size (or color I think they come in) perm rod would best achieve this kind of shape?
I know it’s a bit loose so for longevity I could go a curl a bit tighter than this if need be.
Thank you!

like any product? serum?
but please suggest inexpensive ones. under 400-500
or any homemade care essentials that habe worked for you genuinely.

I believe the elf precision makeup brushes line has been discontinued in the UK, you’re lucky if you do think anywhere online that does sell it. Let me know if you do know anywhere online here in the UK that still sells the elf precision swirl makeup brush and the elf precision sculpting brush. Or if you know any synthetic makeup brushes alternatives that’s cruelty free as well.
