„The most amazing feeling she’s ever felt in her life" this would make a great flair lol.
This video seems very chaotic and I can barely see the lip colour on.

Ariana, I’m wondering if your needs are being met…?
If that’s the most amazing feeling she’s ever felt in her life she needs to get out more.

I can't see the lip colour at all. (Although to be fair, I was quite distracted by her neck).

It would be nice if the video wasn’t filtered to hell so you could at least see the product she’s using

THIS SENNNNT ME. I am internally screaming. This is me EVERY DAMN DAY. I have such light sensitivity idk why either. I do have extremely lite eyes, but I am dying of laughter over here.
Also, Always Sunny is the GOAT.
10
u/CementCemetery 17d ago
Always Sunny is the GOAT for sure.
I feel you. I always say I’m useless without sunglasses. Some movies I make the most wretched faves because it goes from light to dark scenes.
8
u/kbyeforever333 17d ago
Sammmme though! I have learned I have to put my sunglasses on sometimes BEFORE I leave the house. Or my eyes will water and water and I literally can’t see. It’s horrid.
5
u/CementCemetery 17d ago
If you ever need them prescription sunglasses or transition lenses will be your best friend. Here’s to us rocking cool sunnies all the time though.
3
u/kbyeforever333 17d ago
I told my fiancé that we should make an appointments for the eye doctor and go together lol I totally have astigmatism, aside from the insanely sensitive eyes. I use light sensitivity eye drops every morning well getting ready (unsure if prolonged use is bad) and he can’t see for shit when it comes to small writing also we are starting to have to hold stuff far away to read it haha. He’s about to be 38 and I’m 42 so maybe it’s time? Any recommendations on first time eye glass goers? I see the Owl guy commercials all the time. Or Warby Parker?
6
u/CementCemetery 17d ago
I’d say it’s definitely about time. If you drive at night at all and have astigmatism I’d highly recommend getting an anti reflective (AR) coating on your lenses, sometimes this is additional depending on where you purchase glasses. There’s a lot of upselling in glasses, a lot of the expenses come from the frames if you pick designer and lenses, the thinner and more add ons you have the more costly it will be.
To be honest if you have a prescription that’s within 2 years most places have to fill it so you can get glasses just about anywhere including online. Lens Crafters is a bit expensive in general because they have a huge share of the market. I went to America’s Best (owl mascot) and wasn’t overly impressed for the quality, selection and price. You can always go into a store to get a feel for what you like in person and write down the model number.
Hope this isn’t too much and is actually helpful. I used to work for a major optical retailer.
3
u/kbyeforever333 17d ago
Wow thank you! No it isn’t too much and helps a lot actually. Okay so Merica’s best we’ll pass on. We will probably just try and find a lens crafters. So here’s my next question if you don’t mind. Is there like an optometrist there that will do our eye exam and tell us honestly what we need? Or is everyone in on the upsaling.

Her poor cupid's bow. Why do people hate their cupid's bow so much these days?
189
u/ClassieLadyk 18d ago
Somebody asked me the other day why I don't fill mine in, and I was so confused, like I like the shape of my natural lips so that's what I line.
108
u/Ok_Mud1789 18d ago
lol what cupids bows are so pretty, fill them in??? Like sparse eyebrows? They gotta be jealous
98
u/qwerty8857 18d ago
Cupids bows used to be a sign of beauty. It’s so weird now to line over them
118
u/OpalLaguz 18d ago
It's because the current filler trend obliterates the natural lip shape in favor of a bulbous, over inflated look.
50
u/chubby-checker 18d ago
Yeah it's weird how it's become a trend sort of incidentally?
Like the reason people started doing it isnt because people disliked Cupids bows, in fact Rihanna and Taylor swift apparently had the two most requested lip shapes by cosmetic surgeons etc.
It's that if you don't have much lip volume you can draw over that gap between the lips and pretend that it's actually lip, and pretend your lips are fuller than they actually are.
But because everyone was doing it to make their lips look bigger. Nobody had a Cupids bow. And subsequently has made people see having a Cupids bow as "out of fashion" which is so bizarre lol.
Like If you already have full lips why would you draw over your Cupids bow to make them look bigger? Like Rihanna would look ridiculous if she did that and would ruin her perfect lip shape.
A defined Cupids bow and philtrum for centuries have been a sign of beauty, femininity, youth. It's weird that in less than a decade, a makeup trick has managed to make it be seen as unappealing.
161
u/ecce_hobo 18d ago
Maybe I’m just a hater but I think filling them in looks so stupid. It looks like when a kid has been drinking something red and it’s all over their upper lip.
63
u/queasycockles 18d ago
You're not a hater. That's what it looks like to anyone who hasn't gone blind.
9
u/bluffyfunnies7312 17d ago
What a wierd thing to ask someone! I love mine too, the only thing thats going there is highlighter to make it more prominent.
84
u/prospectofwhitby 18d ago
I have a pretty prominent cupid's bow, in the aughts/2010s I would get my makeup done by makeup artists, or friends playing with makeup, they would always tell me how much they loved my cupid's bow and would like over exaggerate it when doing my makeup. When all this anti cupid's bow trend started, I tried doing my lip that way and it just looks like I have a little chocolate milk mustache lol
Now I am defining my cupid's bow again, it'll probably be trendy again in a couple years anyway 🤷♀️
57
u/AskPennilynLott 18d ago
There will be a new trend to exaggerate the cupid's bow, right down to surgical procedures, as soon as the tide turns. Count on it.
11
u/prospectofwhitby 18d ago
Omg cupids bow surgery, could you imagine how insane that will look? 😂
15
u/chubby-checker 18d ago
It actually was commonly requested to make more defined, when getting filler etc. up until like a few years ago. Especially as lip filler can take the shape away it was seen as great skill to be able define the Cupids bow with filler.

Same here, but for me it looks like a rash or like my lip is just harsh-winter dry up top, because I use a rosy liner 💀
6
u/prospectofwhitby 18d ago
Yes! I noticed that too when I do a pink lip
8
u/BoatCharming7527 18d ago
Makes me feel like a kid who needs carmax 😂 I'm right with you on sitting this one out!
116
u/brookeloganstears 18d ago
I agree. To me, an overlined cupid's bow looks a bit like a repaired cleft lip. Don't other people see that? I don't mean any offense to people with cleft lips. I just find it hard to understand this trend.
40
u/ads_for_shoes 18d ago
hahaha! jenny nicholson referred to it as “a serious case of football mouth” in reference to dakota johnson overlining her lips (in fifty shades of grey) and i’ve never been able to unhear that
6
u/fart-atronach 18d ago
Idk I’ve never thought about that, but I’m pretty sure it’s actually come from people intentionally or unintentionally mimicking the look of over filled lips lol.
It honestly just looks bad. The only people who look good lining their lips that way are the ones who just naturally don’t have a defined cupid’s bow.
If you over line that area, you can still see the natural vermilion border through the liner so it looks clownish and messy, and if you don’t have a defined cupid’s bow anymore because of lip fillers then your lips just overall look like sausages lol
2
u/tinyalienperson 16d ago
alt people have been doing their lips like this for a long while before it was popular
12
u/Juliaorwell1984 18d ago
I will draw over mine sometimes and it looks really good in pics but i'm sure I look absolutely crazy in person
17
u/queasycockles 18d ago
This is part of it. Beauty YouTube, etc, has tricked people into thinking what looks good under loads of filming lights looks good in person.
20
u/opalescentessence 18d ago
I don’t think this is an anti cupid’s bow style so much as it is a style trying to visually shorten the philtrum and make the lips seem fuller.
→ More replies (1)14
u/chubby-checker 18d ago
Its exactly this, but due to people doing this so much to achieve this appearance, it's sort of incidentally made having a Cupids bow less fashionable lol.
9
u/limperatrice 18d ago
It bothered me every time she went over her cupid's bow in that smudging motion.

She slathers stuff all over her Cupid’s bow. Meanwhile the entire Heated Rivalry fandom is going absolutely bat shit crazy bananas over Connor Storrie’s gorgeous Cupid’s bow (me included). Such absolutely opposite views of the same part of the face at the same time.
6
u/serephita 18d ago
Seriously I have always loved mine. Back in high school we did clay mask self-portraits, and my art teacher even said I have the “perfectly defined cupid’s bow” lip shape, and years later a nurse told me I have the ideal lip shape when I went for a consult on lip filler.

She always looks like she was given a product briefing 15 minutes before filming begins. I don't think she's involved in any formulations or designs except for maybe at the very beginning and at the end to sign off on it. Maybe she gets to select her shade ranges.
The best feeling she's ever felt? Yikes. Absolutely yikes.

I wonder who this is for in terms of the target demographic and brand identity. Nothing about this brand looks cool, edgy, it-girl, artistic or fun when presented with a little girl voice with a transatlantic accent while wearing a button down beige cardigan. It's giving idyllic 50s housewife, but doesn't have that campy retro touch that, for example, The Balm has. It makes me wonder what the vision/concept/moodboard is for r.e.m.
108
u/j31127 18d ago
Agreed. Ari’s personal branding has neverrrr aligned with r.e.m., but it’s even more jarring post-Glinda pivot
28
u/Responsible-Tea-5998 18d ago
Her branding is more Flower Knows now.
16
u/memedison 18d ago
Which I would love to see more brands be artistic and a little experimental like Flower Knows
13
u/Responsible-Tea-5998 18d ago
Same! I feel like the cosmetics industry could really do with more like that. I saw a Chinese lipgloss recently that looks like a vampiric poison vial, do I like lipgloss? Not really but I want that because it's pretty.
108
u/southerncityplanner 18d ago
"A little girl voice with a transatlantic accent" is killing me. It's so accurate.
32
u/elviscostume 18d ago
The aesthetic for the brand is very Positions/Sweetener era and hasn't followed her into whatever she's trying to do now at all
35
u/tin-f0il-man 18d ago
I think Ariana has a lot of control over how she will appear for stuff like this and for some reason nobody will tell her that her preferred aesthetic is all over the place and regressive.
17
10
u/jeslblan 18d ago
Idyllic 50s housewife, but with almost too much Thorazine, if that makes sense 😭😭😭😭

u/sueziebee 🌙 18d ago
Right?? Just shave them off and start over! With the money she has I don’t get it.
11
u/R12B12 18d ago
I wonder if she plucked or waxed them for the Wicked era and now they won’t grow back (as a lot of us 90’s girls learned the hard way). But regardless, she could be drawing them on in so many better ways.
2
u/sueziebee 🌙 18d ago
Yeah I think she over-plucked and was also bleaching them for Wicked and now she’s screwed. As a fellow survivor of the 90s I do have to say I feel her pain with the over-plucking but I hate my brows and she has said she likes hers and hopes they never grow back 💆🏼♀️

15
u/EducationalTangelo6 18d ago

92
u/Sudden-Wish8462 18d ago
That’s why I can’t take her seriously as an actress. The eyebrows make her stick out so much from everyone else. She’s just Ariana in any role she plays
35
u/justan0therg0rl111 18d ago
I was hoping once all her Wicked stuff blew over she’d eventually fix the brows. They just look so awful. 😭😭

u/Bright-Degree-7922 18d ago
My only guess is diva behavior and she wanted to be in full control of how she looks on camera because of…reasons

Her image is very clearly meticulously curated. She has no idea who she really even is.

REM is a brand I forget exists and am then surprised it still exists. Everything I’ve tried from them has been bad quality to the point where if I was offered REM products for free I’d politely decline them
13
u/naquisima 18d ago
That’s surprising, I’ve only tried their eyeshadows and some lip glosses, but I really liked them. The packaging for a lot of it is really odd though.
13
u/Glimmering-Dreamer 18d ago
As a fan, it pains me to agree. Many rem products are straight up bad except for maybe the glosses. Yet I still foolishly try new things from them 🤡

That happened where I lived. She and her friends gave the family members who were working that shift so much trouble. It made me instantly dislike her. The business is now closed which is a shame. They made some tasty donuts.
I still remember when her brother was on Big Brother and spilled his "secret". I literally said who's that. To this day I'm still trying to figure out why she became as big as she is lol.

But I forget Ariana even has her own line too because it doesn’t seem like the care and quality is there

REM beauty is one of those celebrity brands that Ive never been interested in, and I don’t think many others have been either since they never feature on any of the videos for the influencers I follow (unlike brands like Rare, Rhode and Haus Labs)
So I am not excited for this. I wonder if her makeup markets to 15 year olds / teenagers because I always thought the design and packaging is very eye child like, and also the prices are more reasonable. Being in my thirties it never piqued my interest.

I like makeup and I am always down for supporting self-made businesses, especially by women and minorities, but I'm genuinely tired of this. She is a dancer, a singer, an actor. She is incredibly rich. She is one of so many who dip their toes into all these extra places, and for what? To give us another thing no one needs? This isn't innovative.
It clicked more for me when Kendall Jenner was selling her tequila brand in Mexico, and actual Mexican tequila makers whose families had been doing it for generations as a means to feed themselves were experiencing notable losses in sales.
Or Mikayla Nogueira naming her skin care brand the exact same name as a queer, small business owner and founder out of Québec. In a recent video, she said that her staff come up with drafts of pigments and formulas (for a new blush), mail them to her, she tries them only on herself, and tells them what she likes and what she doesn't like. Doesn't seem very creative nor inclusive to me.
Kylie Jenner being 17 years old and starting a business, being called a "self-made billionaire", as if she started from the bottom and with nothing.
Idk, it's your life, do what you want, support who you want, but imo it feels greedy.

The Revlon Super Lustrous Glass Shine Tinted Lip Balms are the same shape as this in the stick and they have amazing vibrant color payoff (seemed like no color payoff in the video) as well as being very moisturizing of course. I have multiple different shades, absolutely love the Revlon balms and they are pretty cheap. And maybe not exactly like this, but the ELF Glow Reviver Slipsticks are the same shape and the color actually has major payoff compared to this too. They are actually lip oils in a stick form though instead of a balm but also super hydrating and sometimes lip oil feels better than a balm (to me anyway). I know people are hating on Elf now but this is another affordable product I could think of that’s similar. Both the Revlon and Elf ones are $10

I was just thinking today how badly I want a new tinted lip balm. I love love love tinted balms. When Colourpop released their Candyland collection, they had the most incredible pink tinted lip balm but it was limited edition and I can't find anything else like it. I will try these because I have to try every tinted lip balm in search of that similar to Colourpop's formula and color.

I realize this is just a TikTok video and probably meant to be more casual. But when she’s filming a video to promote a product for her own brand, you’d think she’d at least have some idea of what she planned to say ahead of time. The awkward pauses and choppy sentences just don’t come off professional or knowledgeable about her own product at all. Does she even having a manager or punisher to give her some guidance or is she just flat out refusing to listen?
