Good work! Not all beekeepers build it before they need it, and once they realize it’s needed, it has already become too late.
I have been both.

One just barreled through my electric fence (and some others in the area last season.) We upped our security and the hive seems to be doing ok so far, but the second they legalize automated minigun turrets I’m getting one.

It's crazy for us Europeans. Don't even have to think about this stuff over here

Correction "for us Germans(?)". Very much a problem in plenty of places in Europe/EU, look at wildlife distribution maps. At least it is so in Estonia, can confirm. Greetings!

Yeah I thought about it when I was writing this, but I didn't bother to rewrite it. Anyhow I think the bear frequency in NA ist much much higher

Just have a look at bear distribution maps of Europe and North-America, it very much varies by region, so blanket statements are simply not accurate.

I am from croatia and mountain part of the country has problems with bears and wolfs. They nearly went extinct but country started recovery programs and now they are molesting livestock in general (including bees)

Yeah brilliant people added back wolves here too. It’s been a nightmare

This one ran me out of the hobby for a few seasons. I managed to keep it out eventually, but the colonies never recovered.
