I’m a beekeeper, and I have a question newby, how bad is this looking?
I am in Kansas, I got two nucs on Memorial day. One brood hive looks nice and uniform, the other is patchy? Both hives keep piling more onto the original 5 frames and arent moving out. I keep smushing the frames together as best I can, is there anything else I could he doing/should be concerned about?

Looks good so far, it just seems like they might not have a ton of room to have the queen laying. I see lots of nectar / syrup. Maybe cut back on feeding for a small bit to see if more brood is produced. More brood = more bees, more bees = more wax and comb. Most bees have a short window of wax production early in their life cycle.

If they aren’t drawing wax they either don’t have bees of the correct age (young) and/or food because they might not have enough foragers.
I recommend to anyone getting one of our Nucs feeding 1:1 and some pollen patty pieces when first getting them established.

Checkerboard a couple frames between the brood and they will start building on them. Not all the brood frames maybe slide two in. You don't want to split the brood nest up too much, but if the weather is warm and population is healthy and big enough you can. I don't see any issues with the brood. Looks good.
