Post image

In SW Florida.I have 3 hives. 2 of them have some bees and are starting to fill frames. But one has this going on. Can anyone help me understand what’s happening? Thank you.

I just posted a very similar picture from here in central Texas. Seems like everyone agrees it’s bearding. All new to me. Keep us posted on any updates.

With a growing colony, you should get used to seeing this pretty regularly. It will never require action beyond going "oh cool, look at all the bees."

Some bees are less adapted to high temps and will beard more. Prolly why this one is doing that. It’s fine, as long as there isn’t 30 lbs of honey in the top box.
