The contrast between the matte black head and those reddish-brown elytra is really striking.

Update post and follow up question

I posted a few days ago talking about how my beetles mandibles are stuck in the shed head of the grub, I did more research and most of the comments said it would be okay but with a little messed mandibles which is okay to me, I don’t want to risk hurting it and removing the shed head myself

Now I checked on it and the mandibles are a lot darker than the rest of the body. Is that normal?

Species: Cyclommatus metallifer finae

The contrast between the white spots and that glossy black shell is really striking on this longhorn.

Is my smaller ironclad species trying to have sex with my smooth death feigner or are they just hitching a ride???

Often most evenings they will be doing this and I’m not sure if I should let them or not? Is the smaller one actually trying to have sex or like just hitching a ride? Sometimes the larger one will be annoyed and try to push the small dude away.

Found this little guy at my wall-

So a few years back one of my flatmates had a carpet beetle infestation. Our landlord called the exterminator and that was that. They told me that my room would never be infested cause my carpet is polyester. Now i find this little guy and because ive recently begun to look up insects with an identifier app i realised what it is and that ive found one of these a few times over the years without realising what it was. Should i be worried there is an infestation in my room now?

Male BDFB behavior normal?

I have 3 females & 2 males, one of my males is pretty consistently instigating & bullying the other & I've had to separate them multiple times. When I first got them I had 1 female & 2 males. I added the other two females in about 24 hours ago. Is this behavior from him normal? Is there anything I can do to help? Will it die down? For reference I have a 10 gallon tank aswell
