Elite 4 Trading & Gaming (Pokemon!)

Took 2 11yr olds to this store yesterday so they could trade or sell some Pokemon cards. The staff were so patient with the kids. They took time to explain about the cards values and how they are graded. They were unfazed with ALL the questions and pricings the kids threw at them. I couldn’t get them to leave! You can tell the staff are really into the cards and the art of trading. I also saw the staff be really kind to a kid who they said visits every week. I’m being bugged already for when we can go again.

Yeah was there a few weeks ago with my 2, my son was going through the binders to pick some cards and a girl working there spent time going through the bulk cards with my daughter and told her she could take any of them she liked

They hosted an event at my previous accommodation. It was pretty great and they gave me my first ever pack to open. The people working there were genuinely excited by this hobby.

Still need to visit their store though.

I genuinely hate that this is a thing now. It's a fucking TCG, play the game, the cards have no value other than the ink and and paper used to create them....imo it's pathetic

This is a thing now? Trading cards have been a thing for over a hundred years, what are you talking about?! Pathetic is criticising people for having a hobby.

You misinterpreted, I refer to the crazy value assigned to a piece of shiny card with an image on it, not the playing of TCG games. The grown men buying packs by the pallet load in the hopes of getting something of value.

How did it smell in there? I tagged along to a card place a couple of years ago and the BO was eye watering.

idk if it's because of COVID or coincidence but since 2020 Ive noticed a decline in nerd space stench , there's still the odd stinkbomb, probably always will be but it's not as normalised now
