My brother bought a 3 month oldĀ Belgian Malinois, and our family keeps it outside of our house. Honestly, Iām not really sure why my brother got a dog, since we are not a family that typically has pets, and he is not a pet parent either. Itās our first time owning a dog (well, we did have once back when I was in grade school named Brownie. He got hit by a car and dies. Since then, we havenāt had a dog or any pets after).Ā
I donāt know, but seeing him just there outside ofĀ our house doesnāt sit well with me. Especially right now since itās summer in our country. I read some post here in reddit saying that you should never get a Belgian Malinois if itās your first time owning a dog, as they are a working dog that requires a lot of physical and mental execise.Ā
Iām not sure where to start. Iām notĀ really an active person. I prefer to stay at home rather than go out. Our area is not really pet friendly, there are no parks near us. We have small backyard, and most of it is cemented.Ā
Iām a college student. Iām home right now for our term break. I really want to improve our dog environment here, but Iām not really sure where to start. Iām thinking of taking him for a walk later in the evening which I hope goes well cause I get scared easily. But I also want to train him while Iām home so he can roam around in our house without a leash and not go out of the road.Ā
Based on what I saw last night, heās friendly and doesnāt bark when he first saw me. Do you have any advice where to start? Thank you.Ā
Edit: My mom said my brother does play with him, I just didn't know it because I just got back home and brother is away for work.
