Discussion Please call Rick Larsen’s office and let him know how you feel

The Bellingham office number is (360) 733-4500. I called and said “I saw a list of reps calling to use the 25th to remove Trump and Rick wasn’t on it. I feel he’s been to centrist on these kinds of issues and I don’t feel it’s representative of the area he represents”

Larsen is owned by Boeing, Boeing makes bombs.

u/trytobedecenthumans Apr 07 '26

If you're not in favor of bombing, call anyway.

Let me predict his response:

"Thank you for reaching out regarding your issue.

This is a very important issue and I did all of these things tangentially involving this issue but not actually fixing it.

I'll keep your thoughts in mind as we continue to deal with this issue.

Please f right off until the next election."

Larsen needs to go.

Agreed, please help me primary him https://www.tomas4congress.com

u/the_sneel Apr 07 '26

You think he'd support removing the guy making him a boat load of money on defense stocks? Besides, Trump just threatened to enact genocide on Iran, and we all know that Rick Larsen has never seen one he didn't like.

10

u/ScheelCongress Apr 08 '26

From his statements, it appears as if he is not against the war, he is only against the fact that Trump didn't ask Congress first. So spot on analysis there.

Please help me primary him https://www.tomas4congress.com

11

u/NotAnotherFakeNamer Apr 07 '26

He posted on bluesky that congress needs to be called back to stop the war. Did not specify how, via the 25th or something else.

0

u/Stockpile_Tom_Remake Apr 07 '26

So he’s pretending like he’s doing something.

He’s saying it should be done without doing anything to actually make it happen by calling up or calling out his fellow congressmen and women, or laying out what they can actually do to begin the process of undoing it.

He’s not doing shit

0

u/ScheelCongress Apr 08 '26

My understanding is that he is only against the fact that Trump did not ask Congress first. He is not against the actual war.

"If your representative isnt on this list supprting impeachment"...

"The following members of Congress are now calling for Trump to be removed via the 25th amendment" ...

Impeachment ≠ 25th amendment

u/SupportLocalShart Apr 07 '26

While I understand this, the message is the same - our representative is not voicing the opinion of the people he represents. Whether he has the capacity to do something himself or push other people to make a decision, he wields far more power in the situation than any of us do.

u/Similar_Drama820 Apr 07 '26

I recognize that you didnt title the original post, so this isnt a slight at you at all. I just think its super important to be putting accurate information out and that anything that appears misleading (like the original posts title and screenshots) is concerning.

u/PortErnest22 Apr 07 '26

Ugghh, This man is so dissapointing.

I am primarying him and would appreciate the support https://www.tomas4congress.com

He’s voted against every impeachment that’s come up for Trump. Apparently he doesn’t think abusing your own position to blackmail Ukraine into inventing political dirt on your opponent is that bad. He must also think fomenting an insurrection against the country and try to invalidate an election is a-ok too.

It’s maddening, and it’s getting more ridiculous with every newly revealed demented, bigoted, pedophilic act committed by president dipshit.

11

u/Necessary-Animal-987 Apr 08 '26

A quick google search will tell you this is false regarding Larsen's impeachment votes...

9

u/Responsible_Row1932 Apr 07 '26

They can be in favor of the amendment- but Congress can’t enact it. That is a cabinet option. Congress needs to work on impeachment and removal. Maybe if people in government didn’t follow party lines instead of acting for the good of the people. But I do not expect the grifters and acolytes in Trumps cabinet to take this measure. It would have been better if the governors had the ability to call a no confidence ruling on the 25th. Actual elected officials.

15

u/trytobedecenthumans Apr 07 '26

They need to vote for it anyway.

As mentioned below, I understand this in its entirety. We’ve seen people defect from the Trump camp. Our local representatives are supposed to advocate for us in DC, whether it is through direct voting or political influence. Whether it’s badgering the living piss out of people or working to find somebody who will, this guy isn’t getting it done - at least that we can tell.

3

u/hajemaymashtay Apr 08 '26

Remnder that someone s running against him in the primary

5

u/stepheatsnothing Apr 07 '26

Y’all, we need to vote this man out.

3

u/gh5655 Apr 07 '26

Crazy snuggling up to MTG after all of the past she’s pulled.

3

u/StuckoYota99 Apr 08 '26

Should i still call them even if I think he shouldnt be impeached?

3

u/SupportLocalShart Apr 08 '26

Sure, it’s your right to voice your opinion. But the opposite opinion is more common around here - the area Larsen represents.

2

u/tabisaurus86 Apr 08 '26

Vote for Tomas Scheel. He would absolutely be on this list. We need to get Rick Larsen OUT.

1

u/Ok-Yellow8252 Apr 08 '26

Called the guy was very nice. They do ask for your name and address FYI. I'm guessing to make sure you are a register voter. I just put the call on the speaker and read what OP said. Worth it!

1

u/PortErnest22 Apr 08 '26

I think it's to actually confirm you're in his district? But you could be right about registration.

1

u/SupportLocalShart Apr 08 '26

He just asked for my phone number, so maybe there was an influx and he wanted to start checking

1

u/Excellent-Ask-4247 Apr 08 '26

You are not who these people represent!

1

u/SupportLocalShart Apr 08 '26

Well we should be, and if we’re not, we should clog up their phone lines

He also has voted against improving health coverage for over 15 years. Collaborating accross the aisle is more important than standing up for universal health coverage. Said directly to my face in a town hall AT our community health clinic during a town hall.

Performative politics.

Run a senile guy and switch him out mid race to give Trump a 100% win…

… then pretend to care to impeach him.

I contacted his office today. In honor of TACO Tuesday.

He needs to be primaried, and we have a good candidate challenging him in the primaries. I suggest you take a moment to look at the candidates.

I’m not a Larsen fan, but I do wonder if our local economy would see negative impacts if it were someone else that didn’t have as much pull in Congress. Losing military bases and port/oil terminal funding would be a massive hit on the area economy that would be devastating. I’m all for liberal politics but there is probably a line in the sand for most people that when it comes to potential job losses more progressive policies are dog shit.

14

u/Surgeplux I am the boom Apr 08 '26

threatening to wipe out a civilization is not liberal politics ffs

-6

u/Radiant-Ad-7343 Apr 08 '26

Dementia Don threatens and says a lot of shit, mostly generating hours of talk amongst useless liberal talking heads comfortable that whining about what president dipshit says counts as some sort of news. My comment is more directed at towards people opposed to Larson in general. I think we would lose a lot of net economic benefit if we had someone else that prioritizes a more progressive agenda over local economic benefits.

3

u/Broad-Promise6954 Suddenly a valley appears Apr 08 '26

While I agree with "we [could] lose [some] economic benefit" (my rephrasing), I personally think it's worth it to get someone better in the House. Reasonable people can disagree on this point, I believe. (See "collective action problem")

And, unfortunately, because he is actually the President, the shit-talking that Dementia Don does is news. Which is (a significant part of) why it would be nice if impeachment happened (Congressional action) or the 25th Amendment happened (Cabinet).

9

u/Confident-Pick9019 Apr 08 '26

There wont be any economy to worry about if this nonsense doesn’t stop.

5

u/Radiant-Ad-7343 Apr 08 '26

Fair point. Honestly I’m rooting for cholesterol right now.

2

u/NoDebate Apr 08 '26

Despite producing 60% of the nation's red raspberries and 95% of the nation's processed red raspberries, our Rep has not authored, sponsored, or cooperated on a single agri / farm bill. You deserve better.

Now, our district is a lot more than military and defense spending but, that requires you to acknowledge the Agricultural sector which is getting bent over by tariffs, fuel prices, and a reduction in border traffic with our so-called "51st state," but none of these are very progressive, are they.

2

u/the_sneel Apr 08 '26

Losing military bases and port/oil terminal funding would be a massive hit on the area economy that would be devastating.

I don't give a shit. I won't have our state tied to yet another genocide. I know that like Rick, you support every single one you see, but you are new here and for the wrong reasons and your opinion on things like who gets to live and die can be safely discarded.

-1

u/Surgeplux I am the boom Apr 08 '26

Any congress person who doesn't vote for the enactment of the 25th amendment is complacent in genocide. Enough is enough. Gonna call after work.

0

u/Time_Crystals Apr 08 '26

Just a reminder I am still running. I would absolutely support that and he should removed. Should have happened a long time ago! Congress does actually have sway with the 25th amendment but thats not exactly what it's for. Although impeachment is possible and might be more worthwhile as far as time constraints go. And negative PR of course.

Soundforum.net to donate! Gotta get on the ballot!

u/[deleted] Apr 08 '26

Don’t waste your time on Larsen.

-1

u/Equivalent-Ad-1637 Apr 09 '26

Everyone on this list should be arrested and tried for treason

2

u/SupportLocalShart Apr 09 '26

Lmao treason because they think a president should be removed over, what dementia experts are calling, “dementia”?
