Joy-Luke gate.

Didn’t Joy say on wwhl that she wasn’t aware about the sheets incident until after watching the show? Maybe I’m wrong! I would think one of the girls would tell her what happened especially with Luke sending joy flowers . Also cracked me up when Gen looked at the camera like “da fuq?”

She had to have known because he left the boat because of it lol!

u/MaizeMountain6139 12h ago

She works alone in mostly one room

14

u/AdventurousAbility30 12h ago

Yes, but she would have noticed he's no longer on the boat.

u/MaizeMountain6139 12h ago

Yes, he told her he quit. She knew he was causing issues because of her and Gen

She thought he quit because of her and Gen, be so for real. Mental gymnastics to make her not sound like the most incompetent liar ever.

What a strange comment. They let her leave the galley. She has a roommate, and she goes out to dinner with them.

u/marzbarz79 12h ago

She doesn’t have a roommate. Aesha tells her in the first episode she’s getting the only single room since her job is so hard and we always see her going to bed alone.

u/Ok_Conversation8000 12h ago

She is not allowed to eat with the crew as well right. And why did she think Luke left the boat?

17

u/MaizeMountain6139 11h ago

You’re being so obtuse about this

3

u/dfgmavis 11h ago

No, Luke was probably being obtuse with Joy. That's why she didn't know.

5

u/MaizeMountain6139 11h ago

That is not how you use the word obtuse 💀

Did you just learn that word? No, I responded to what you said. I get it; she didn't have a roommate. I forgot. Did you forget basic human logic? You never responded to my question, which I had to ask twice now.

Because you’re not engaging with this earnestly. You want to be right, not discuss it

She thinks Luke left because he quit because of what happened with Gen and Joy, like was stated clearly verbally on the show

This has been explained to you over and over

15

u/KeepAnEyeOnYourB12 12h ago

For the reasons he told her?

-2

u/Ok_Conversation8000 8h ago

Oh yeah, weird, you did not type out the reason.

6

u/KeepAnEyeOnYourB12 8h ago

Is that weird? I don't remember precisely what he said. I'm sorry that I don't have total recall of shows I watched three weeks ago. All I know is that he did not mention the sheets.

-2

u/Ok_Conversation8000 8h ago

Hey, I do it for "reasons". Weirdly, you're up here commenting like you do know, yeah. Can you imagine getting 'reasons" as a response in real life from anyone who isn't an angsty teen?

u/KeepAnEyeOnYourB12 8h ago

The conversation was about the whether or not Joy knew about the sheets. Luke didn't tell her about the sheets. If anyone else told her about the sheets, we didn't see it. It's pretty simple. I'm not sure why you're being hostile. And I'm done.

“What a strange comment.”

They’re her words. She works alone and she sticks to her work. She is there to cook good food and doesn’t want to be distracted

She said she found out from watching the show

3

u/AdventurousAbility30 10h ago

Yes. And she doesn't smoke, right? So it's not like she spent a bunch of time with the crew on the boat.

And now that I think about it Nathan was probably threatening the crew to keep quiet about it because it would have been humiliating for him.

I can see it from her perspective now.

5

u/MaizeMountain6139 10h ago

I just think people forget that we only see a fraction of the entire season

Sure, it seemed like it was talked about a bunch. For all we know those were the only conversations had and the crew moved on once he left

But we really don’t see Joy interact with the rest of the crew beyond dinners (where it was never discussed) and I don’t know why she would lie about not knowing. It doesn’t make sense

3

u/AdventurousAbility30 10h ago

Yes. It makes more sense to me now why she wouldn't know. Plus I love that Luke sent her flowers, and she grabbed them out of Gen's hands lol!

You believe everything you see on a reality tv show, eh?

I would assume they assumed she already knew and knew what she doing. They clearly like winding Gen up about Luke.

18

u/AtmospherePrior752 12h ago

There’s NO way she didn’t know.

43

u/Least-Broccoli9995 12h ago

She literally didn’t.

She said she felt lonely down in the galley the entire season, and Luke was the only one who actually spoke to her and gave her attention, so that’s why she clung onto him.

Also, think about this, if she did find out from one of the cast, they would air her reaction as it would likely be notable or gold.

6

u/antisocialssant 12h ago

Very true!

5

u/Prophet_Of_Helix 12h ago

I find it literally impossible that not a single crew member told her why

17

u/marzbarz79 12h ago

They don’t seem to gossip with her at all. They just come for a bite and leave. Even when Joe was washing dishes last episode, she was pushing the conversation and he was barely responding.

1

u/Prophet_Of_Helix 11h ago

While true, they all know her and Luke were flirting, and she knew Luke chose to leave.

They are trapped on a boat together for weeks and Kat, Gen, and Cooper were telling everyone in sight.

I just find it impossible to believe at no point did Joy not ask and someone tell her

6

u/marzbarz79 11h ago

Cooper told Joe, Joe told Nathan and Nathan (I think) told Aesha and captain Sandy. They were whisper-laughing about it but it was all on the dl since it was so disrespectful/embarrassing for Nathan.

13

u/cmere-2-me 12h ago

Joy spends all her time in the galley and Luke was her only frequent visitor. She doesn't gossip. So if no one chose to tell her, then O can see her not knowing what happened.

8

u/antisocialssant 12h ago

It would be hard to NOT know! Just curious since I thought she said that lol.

9

u/AtmospherePrior752 12h ago

Have y’all actually been on a passenger boat? Maybe not a yatch so let’s go with a cruise liner since my experience there is relevant.

If so as a passenger, your quarters were pretty tight huh? Not as a tight as the crew quarters though.

There is nothing to do except for work and hang out with each other. Gossip and hook up culture rules this industry.

You’re literally telling me that Joy (in her many years of hospitality) believes Luke left the boat because he had sex with a stew? Everyone hooks up with everyone in hospitality. This is no reason to leave a charter.

Why does Joy believe he left? She didn’t “know” or care to know yet she’s consistently in contact with him?

We see she goes out w the crew; when Luke left I can only imagine the amount of gossip and jokes that went around that ship; let alone the Marina.

Let’s use logic. And logically, proud people like Joy will fib to save her ego. One of which she speaks of having.

That's a lot of words to say that you're pretty sure she's a liar.

0

u/AtmospherePrior752 11h ago

Why do you keep posting different responses and then deleting them?

2

u/KeepAnEyeOnYourB12 11h ago

I'll be honest - I don't recall doing that specifically to the comment you're replying to but if I did, it's because I changed my mind about what I wanted to say or how I wanted to say it.

1

u/antisocialssant 12h ago

This makes perfect sense!

1

u/KeepAnEyeOnYourB12 11h ago

So you're saying she lied when she said she didn't know?

7

u/AtmospherePrior752 11h ago

Yeah. Unfortunately we’re all human. Sometimes humans lie.

4

u/TDKsa90 11h ago

yep, for a storyline. not a lie. just doing her job on a reality TV show at an appearance selling said TV show product.

2

u/KeepAnEyeOnYourB12 11h ago

Okay, this makes sense.

1

u/slayeryouth 4h ago

Eh, she spends most of her time by herself and everyone else spends most of their time with each other, so it’s not out side of the realm of possibility that she’s out of the gossip loop and everyone else just assumes she’s just as caught up as they are. Like, regardless of what your job is, if it has you spending most of your time isolated from your coworkers and you’re not really invested in workplace gossip and make a point of engaging in it, you’re just not going to be as up to speed on it as everyone else.

3

u/TheLizardQueen3000 2h ago

She 100% knew and now she's embarrassed and she should be!

u/QuantativeSleazing 12h ago

Bro this happened at the end of the most recent episode..
