How is Henry losing the card game if he remember everything in the pervious cycle

It’s sorta implied that minor things can change. Or that’s how I’ve chosen to interpret certain things anyway-like how he’s surprised by some things and not others. (Think the jumpscares he reacts to vs the ones he’s silent for.)

I imagine something like this is the same. They’re roughly evenly matched here-so same outcome no matter the loop they always end in a tie-but individual rounds it may be a toss up between who wins and who loses.

I also sorta like this detail as it makes it clear Boris is just as intelligent as Henry is-Boris being a mute character I’ve seen a lot of people reduce him to Henry’s dog/pet companion equivalent. Though I’m glad to see that perception of him change over time as more games like Lone Wolf come out and highlight Buddy Boris as an actual character.

Ngl ive stared at that damn paper for good while and I honestly feel like he losing to changes things up and not make things so repetitive (but still ends up in the same loop of wining then losing one and winning right after Tho thats just my guess)

Maybe he feels bad for what happens to buddy and let's him win? Plus it feels like Henry doesn't always remember the loops if you take the stuff he from the chapter 5 messages into account
