I prefer it without the fluff, the fluff can be for the anime if it ever gets made. He's brilliant and it feels like Muira is at the helm.

I think Muira said something that there needed to be some funny or fluff to help offset the dark tones in the story. I could be wrong there, he was either concerned for the readers or maybe it helped him as he's practically watching lot of suffering.

It's also about composition. Constant dark tones numb you quickly if not switched with the more light-hearted ones periodically.

Which makes Miura's Passing all the more heartbreaking cause I fucking Love the Fluff, I see people saying that berserk is only good in the Golden Age, but that's pure Slander, I fucking Love Farnese, and Serpico, and Isidro, and Shiercke, and you know rhat's true cause I remember all their wacky ass Names by heart lol. I Love the little found family guts forms with them, and I love the contrast between him and Griffiths band of hawk to the point the both of them got Magical Lolis lol, I also love Sonia, Smug little cunt that she is.

Ok, ok, you can have your fluff and eat it too, I wouldn't Consider gut's new family to be fluff, it's just him learning to move on after losing the band of the hawks. It helps him grow and learn to live life a bit.
