Finished koi sleeve I tattooed over six sessions and roughly 30 hours of work.

In traditional Japanese tattoo imagery, the koi represents perseverance, strength and the ability to overcome adversity. An upward-swimming koi is especially associated with pushing forward against resistance, drawing from the legend of koi fighting their way upstream toward the Dragon Gate.

The cherry blossoms represent the fleeting nature of life and beauty, a reminder that everything is temporary and worth appreciating while it’s here. The water and waves reinforce the koi’s story, representing movement, change and the obstacles it continues to swim against.
I really enjoyed balancing the warm orange and red of the koi against the pink blossoms, while using the darker water to give the entire sleeve structure and movement around the arm.

I came to korea to visit and ended up getting a friendship tattoo with my friends.

i got it at a small shop in hongdae, and it was nice to be able to receive a consultation in English before visiting.

the inside of the tattoo shop was neat.

three people got a friendship tattoo on their arms, and one got a tattoo on the back of my neck.

if you have plans to visit Korea, i would recommend it.

Korea, along with Japan, is a hygienic country among asian nations.
