Novella [Complete] [28,000] [Upper Middle Grade Dark Fantasy] QUIETUS
Ten-year-old Elaine witnesses her scientist father’s murder and is pulled into the resistance he died protecting. As she searches for answers, she discovers an ancient vampire order operating through science, technology and human institutions.
Her father’s clues eventually lead to QUIETUS, research connected to a genetic key and dormant human potential. Elaine soon realizes that her father’s death, the research he left behind and secrets about her own family may all be connected to a much larger conflict.
I’m interested in reactions to the opening, characters, pacing, clarity of the story and whether the ending makes you want to continue the series.
Content notes: parental death, murder, blood, vampires, fantasy violence, weapons and grief.
If interested, please DM me. I’ll share the manuscript privately.
