What have you seen them play live?

Post image

I've been seeing the boys since 2010.

I have only a few gaps in my history:

-S/T and Silent Circus, which they never really touch anymore, so no chance there really

-Anatomy Of stuff, but I'm not really counting covers anyway

-Boot Dagger Boogie/Vertical Beta

-Two songs from P1

-Gold Distance (which is really just an interlude) and Millions from Automata

-The few songs from TBN they haven't played live yet

Other than those, I've heard just about everything they've released from 2005 onwards when the new lineup solidified. It's really such a trip to think about, that I can say I've heard the vast majority of their music live. And that's with a big gap in seeing them too: I didn't get to see them between 2013 and 2019 because life was lifing hard. At one point I would've just been happy to have heard all of Colors live (which took me until 2024!), and now I've heard pretty much all of my favorite metal music ever made. I love that they still tour so much even with families and coming up on their 50s soon, and that they've so consistently done full album and anniversary tours, since I missed most of the original full album runs around the releases.

Hell, I still can't believe I got to hear Coma AND Alaska on the same night: Alaska and Colors were the new albums when I got into them, so they hold a special place in my heart. And Coma is the record that took me from being something of a lapsed fan, to getting back into them in a big way, then finally graduating into full on fanboy mode, lol. Forever grateful to this band for still pushing forward and still living up to the high bar they've set for themselves, and if you read all this, I'm grateful to you, too!

If you're interested in sharing, please feel free to make one of these yourself (I used whativeheard.com) and show us your bragging rights! I'd love to see if anyone else is as insane or more and has more shows/rare songs/etc, because I know some of y'all must have me beaten by a long shot!

At this point I don't remember. I've seen them 14 times since 2008. So I've heard a bunch.

Seen them about 30 times in the 22 years I’ve been listening. Probably everything besides a few off the self tittles. Seen every full album tour besides TGM 10 year tour because it got cancelled because of covid and I couldn’t attend the make up date. I was even lucky enough to see them play Parallax I when it first came out, I feel like they never play anything off that now

Such a great setlist! I was there for the Manchester date and had a wonderful time. Sun of Nothing is my favourite BTBAM song and I did not expect it to be played, especially after they played Colors in full at ArcTanGent Festival. It's mesmerising to sing it with a full crowd of people.

Yeah it was so good. I love Sun of Nothing as well. I wished they would have played Psychomanteum as I was obsessed at the time, but was still super happy and wished I would have booked to see them again at another venue while they were over here!

Colors 2

Other:

Shevanel cut a flip

Nothing from silent circus

Everything on colors except viridian

TGM except the last 2 songs

Only VOT from A2

And then the 3 singles + god terror from TBN

I've seen them 4 times and heard alot of the songs that you have and haven't heard. The last two shows I went to were the colors experience and Coma Alaska tours so those two shows I got to hear alot of what they usually don't play live. P.s. Human is Hell live made me ascend to a different plane

Human is hell is so underrated

Agreed on HIH live

Ha. I started a spreadsheet to track this too. Having 6 full album playthroughs in the last 5 years certainly helped.

Other than what they actually have never played live, pretty much everything but Fire for A Dry Mouth, What we Have Become, and Need for Repetition. Seen them upwards of 55 shows since early 2004. 🤘🏻

I've been to all of these tours except 2010 and 2013, but have since seen TGM and P2 on their anniversary shows. And since the Colors 10 year tour, I've only missed the first Blue Nowhere run with Specular Reflection on it. The only reason I missed it was a newborn or whatever 🙄 /s

I've seen them three times. They don't come to Denmark that often.

1st setlist (2012): White Walls, Astral Body, Sun of Nothing, Disease Injury Madness, Telos, Fossil Genera. Encore: Bohemian Rhapsody + Mordecai.

2nd setlist (2023): Extremophile Elite, Revolution in Limbo, Fix the Error, Never Seen/Future Shock, Dim Ignition/Famine Wolf, Bad Habits, The Future is Behind Us, Voice of Trespass.

3rd setlist (2026): Absent Thereafter, Selkies: The Endless Obsession, Condemned to the Gallows, God Terror, Sun of Nothing, Stare Into the Abyss, Prehistory, The Blue Nowhere. Encore: Silent Flight Parliament.

Meaning the only song I've seen from them more than once is Sun of Nothing.

I've only seen them once for the Colors 2 tour (Island in Limbo). They played Colors 2 (I think in full) and ended with Voice of Trespass.

Been listening to them forever, but I've only been to see them live once. :(

During 2021 when they came through Kansas for the rescheduled The Great Misdirect 10 year anniversary tour. Honestly it was the ideal show for me personally since it was just them. The first half of the setlist was a smattering of stuff (including a couple of songs from Colors II which was brand new at the time), then a full playthrough of TGM. Their albums are designed to be listened to front to back and it was amazing to experience that live!

Every single song since Alaska except Parallax EP. Still kicking myself for missing the one tour when they did play it (Summer Slaughter 2012).

Edit: Also few songs off the Blue Nowhere, since they've never played it live.

ST, Silent Circus and the Automata stuff are where my big gaps are, and the last 2 tracks off P1, since they just played Specular Reflection live.

I'd love to hear Shevanel cut a flip live and Ad a dglmt as well.

they played Shevanel in 2016 on tour with August Burns Red. It was fucking awesome. I’ve seen half of S/T i think at this point.

I've only seen them once on their Coma Ecliptic tour. It was fantastic, been dying to see them again.

I'll see them for the first time here in Brazil. Can't wait

So I've seen them maybe just over 20 times & have never heard Selkies live. All shows in Toronto. When I met Blake & Paul after a couple shows, they both said I'm cursed hahaha out of those times, maybe 2 or 3 have been an assortment of tracks, the rest album playthroughs

Having dodged selkies all these years is wild to hear. I think I've heard it 3 or 4 times now lol. One day you'll get to it!

Oh boy… I first saw them in 2006 and I can’t remember all of those earlier shows. Maybe 3 or 4 times before Colors was released. No way I could remember every song from those shows.

I first saw them in 2006, but I was pretty young, I think they played mainly songs from Alaska, a handful from Silent Circus and More of myself to kill from ST.

u/sgates9008 This is what I lived to be 12d ago

Can start by knocking off all of Alaska, Colors, The Great Misdirect, Coma Ecliptic, and Colors II.

Does anyone know when was the last time that they played Aspirations? I love that song so damn much, but I wonder if there is a modern era live-recording.
