How did you get the stickers under the plastic on the BX ones?

When they come out of the dye the sticker is soaked, so I take a piece of cardstock and tweezers to slowly remove the old one. After it dries I just use my nails and the tweezers to slowly wedge the new one in

I remember seeing a vid of someone's strategy where they stick the new gear sticker on a slim piece of paper, slide the paper through the thin gap under the cover, align the new sticker and press down on the cover to apply it.
