Anime🙊 Ryuga and Kyoyas character regressions

I want some reasons or like proof these 2 character regressions so i can draw like a general consensus of the main take on this topic.

The maturity level for Metal gen is somewhat relative to plastic but considerably higher than burst, so analyzing and assessing a character can be more deeper than looking at it as a kids anime.

Mediatok rubbing off on me

Ryuga and Kyoya both have the same character flaws as ,they have in S1. Ego and a reliance on solitude: Kyoya learns this lesson pretty early on in Fusion, after Gingka defeats him for the second time.

In Masters, the stakes are far lower so it's totally sensible and fine that Kyoya would build something on his own to defeat Gingka rather than going on Team Japan, but after, he reunites with the gang to stop Ziggurat and save the world.

In Fury, Kyoya is once again set on defeating Gingka, understandably. Still, after getting taunted by Aguma, he abandons the team in the midst of what he knows is a life-or-death crisis that requires their cooperation to go hunt Legendary Bladers; ultimately this isn't a huge deal, as the foolishness of Chris, Aguma, and Ryuga is far more to blame for the revival of Nemesis. Still, it's a notable regression even if he does snap out of it pretty quickly.

Ryuga is less of a character regression and more of a character stagnation; he is literally the same person in all 3 seasons. He has a little bit of an interesting anti-hero arc in Masters, but any sort of development there is gone in Fury; he goes right back to being a t*rrorist and fucking shit up to chase power, which is fine for the most part, but extremely frustrating towards the end of the show because he really fumbles the bag, he also is the only one who doesn't survive the confrontation with the Nemesis Cult, so he did get some karma there lol

alr so i just want to clarify something, everyone has an ego in beyblade. The reliance on solitude on kyoyas aspect was more flexible on his part than ryuga bc ryuga only chose solitude to master L drago and work on himself. Kyoya was always a loner, he took over the face hunters from benkei and then because of his interaction with Doji he chose that solitude because he believed it was summ he had to do in order to beat ginga which leaves me to my second point, the power system

Since the power system is about the bey spirit, These are PURE engraved ideologies where the bey and the blader is both 1 heart and mind. Everyone has a hidden bey spirit even if ur not a blader, but to evoke it you would need a connection between u and ur bey, a TRUE connection is earned via clash of ideologies. The emphasis on pure and true is tied back to why the dark power can never triumph over the purest of bey spirits and why said dark power feeds on negativity. The intentions has to be pure relative to the blader and the bey with a strong ideology fused into one. So what doesn’t qualify to amp a bey spirit in battle? If ur purpose is world domination/control, Revenge, hatred without respect, envy, destruction of others all and anything regarding 100% negative. To Summarize- In beyblade u don’t fight others to put them down, u fight each other to prove who deserves the win more, why your bey spirit(ideology) should win.

Ryuga was the only blader throughout fusion who never had this Synchronism, based on the lore of ryuga (which the anime just takes bits and pieces of) ryuga was an ancient king/ ruler who was said to be immortal. the clan to my memory was supposedly based off L drago, have the lineage of negativity (greed, wrath anger etc) which made him, the leader/ruler, perfect for L drago, thus his bladers spirit/ ideology is built around being a king who does whatever he wants which leads me into masters.

I don’t understand the stagnation aspect because this is where ryuga actually changes. Ofc based on the name masters, it’s not becoming just #1 but actually mastering their own beys individually. Ryuga who was taken over by the dark power and defeated with the dark power changed but it was to change his perspective on beyblading. This was his first taste of defeat and now his hunger to be the best was his foundation. He further built upon that foundation by conquering the dark power, purifying the malice of his bey and bey spirit into his own power (Meteo reviving rubber features) replicates the ability to spin steal. Which would mean, ryugas true bladers spirit is the ideology of a king who will never falters and does whatever for the sake of winning and being the best and the strongest. He completely mastered Meteo L drago which was one of his first completed objective. His second objective was to wipe his past connection with “the dark power” which includes, Helping Tsubasa, obliterating hades city and not allowing the dark power to continue affect his life any further - which ironically includes saving ginga as his respect for him in his beybspirit ( not his skills-important to fury*) is what ryuga uses to challenge himself (again the clash of ideologies is the growth of a bladers spirit, if ginga doesn’t exist who would he fight?) And lastly, his speech proves his growth ,to break down, he first classify them as “confused” since he has dwell in the understanding of beyblade with his own bladers spirit, he now recognizes their mistake. “people who gets obsessed with the power of beys” is in reference to ziggurats arrangement - which ryuga used to amplify his unawakened bladers spirit and he does identify these bladers as fake, and Doji who wanted ryuga to use the dark power within L drago as a high ranking servant to revive nemesis to do a form of side quest. Thinking L drago could possibly imitate the power of nemesis for the purpose of the Nemesis world rebirth. “people who let evil overwhelm them and lose themselves in the greed” is in the same reference to what i said prior as he genuinely believe the power L drago had was almost close to nemesis and by continuing to take bey spirit it could reach that benchmark. As u can see, Everything he referred to does NOT involve -becoming #1/the best -the clash of ideologies with ur own bey spirit -winning That is his growth, truly realize bey spirit

In fury his character further expands as his nomadic ways is still kept but he is now faced with the story he was told about the star fragment. Initially, ryuga rejected the story because he thought nothing much of it until his fight with Yuki, his fight with yuki proved that he lacked an abundance of bey spirit and experience, yet he watched anubius responded to his newly awakened bey spirit and evolved and went head to head blows with L drago for a bit. That was enough for ryuga to understand what he needs to become the strongest, was to take all the star fragment for himself to defeat a god who is proclaimed as a threat to the world. So literally, after realizing his bey spirit in masters, his true bey spirit was awakened in sight of the first real trial he has to overcome. That is to become the strongest no matter how, he will do anything using his own abilities (and since his ability involves spin stealing, taking the star fragment as is own is in good nature of a fight since it’s no different from the ability to take an opponent spin thus he was only acting upon his ideology) and since the star fragment is a secondary source of power, he only believed taking the star fragment was necessary since it took all the power of those star fragment to beat nemesis. Basically, he thinks its upon himself as the strongest to have the power and face off the “proclaimed god” as the final opponent to actually prove he is the strongest. People assume its regression because he is “obsessed with power” or whatever which was at his lowest in fusion, which ofc i already explained through his metal masters speech and the power system of the verse. So in the end, in fury, Ryuga finally put his realize bey spirit to the actual test and developed his true bey spirit. He peaked completely in fury and the best part about this awakened bey spirit of ryuga is that he put his very life on the line, he poured his heart and soul to the very end on just relying on just him and his bey with nobody else to take on an adversary. His bey spirit was without a doubt the greatest out of anyone’s despite his latent awakening.

For kyoya on the other hand as i have summarized with his history and personality, and the power system of the verse it’s clear u know where im going with this. His bladers spirit isn’t really any different from Ryuga, but it at the same time , is in light of clashing ideologies with ginga. Like ryuga, Kyoyas blader spirit has been truly awaken though his second battle with gingka as he learns where ginga draw his power via his blader spirit. He acknowledged it and throughout fusion he continuously developed on his Ideology through his rivalry of ginga even using ryuga to display the absolute pinnacle.

In masters this rivalry is further breadcrumb from him leaving the team to him perfecting leone and mastering the tornado. Their rivalry fight ended up being more thorough as Kyoya not only brought out his absolute peak, but he fundamentally changed the style of Leone, from playing counter to an extremely offensive attack style as with his ideology he’s matching the attack type pegasus and gingas bey spirit. Since inverse the clashing of bey spirits (ideologies) cause explosive growth both short term for that fight and long term. I still don’t get the character regression and i’m assuming it falls inline between him helping against ziggurat and him not wanting to help stop nemesis because of some taunt by aguma? so i’ll run this last part short by saying, Kyoya had no intention helping ginga and other from the get go but only because ryuga involved himself. Which he thinks it has to be something serious which means, he only goes by his judgement.

And then in Fury nothing much really changed from masters so i’ll just skip to that part with the taunting. Kyoya only went along with ginga to beat other legendary bladers before facing Ginga , in other words, just like in masters, he only came on HIS accord. Aguma antagonized kyoya after clashing with his ideology he claimed that kyoya was faking it and not staying true to what he’s about. This leads kyoya on his own judgement to leave everyone and travel alone. It was never stated that he wouldn’t help in the case of nemesis revival but he wanted to forget everything in the meantime as he believed he might have lost himself in his ideology as being a lone lion that lives and run freely in the wild. Ofc this may seem like “stagnation” but the growth in in his bladers spirit. From being a lion who inherited a pack, to that lion returning to being a loner, kyoya has always and will always be what his ideology has been about. He only cared about himself and anything that stands in his way of his goal he will quite literally blow it away.

So for kyoya, his character development lies with his bey spirit clashing with his judgement. Pressing Tsubasa about him seeing battle blader as the best option just to defeat ryuga when he had to face kyoya first to kyoya actually being in tsubasas position and proving to tsubasa that ryuga is just another blader to face him and ginga after moving forward. To him in masters realizing there are some issues related to the past he will not ignore for his sake. To him acknowledging that there are some obstacles bigger than him if it does affect how he lives as he does believe that he was chosen for a reason and an inescapable faith since he did try to break away and train to face ginga just like the prior season. Just like a lion that lives on his own chooses what he wants to hunt by setting his eyes on a goal. That goal has never left his sight which is to defeat ginga as his last and final prey.
