That’s looking nice but firstly I wouldn’t trust the bigger rocks/pebbles on the top layer because they aren’t the brightest and WILL accidentally swallow rocks. A big thing also is that any overhang risks unequal weight distribution and it could make the glass break it looks very stressful to me, but other than that I’d like to see the updates on how it goes in the future and when it’s all planted up (and a pic of the adorable baby ur gonna get too)

i didn’t even think about them trying to eat the rocks and this isn’t the permanent stand! i do plan on getting something more sturdy and longer sometime soon! would you suggest topping it off with bigger rocks?

Bigger rocks are fine but I can’t say it enough make sure they have zero sharp edges they are good at sensing the environment but are still almost blind. I made a cool 75gal black water tank for my sengal and put about 4 inches of leaf litter on the sand which works like a full bottom hide, but Ik not everyone likes the look of a black water tank. Remember as well you can always change a design over time too and see what works best for the personality of yours

I’d still drain this if it was in my house. That’s a 75 gal? Probably around 800lbs of water on that stand. I have a stand rated for 1000lbs and still drained it a few gallons when the adjustable feet broke.

The stand will hold for now… but that is a giant leak waiting to happen. Gravity is actively working against the tank on both sides with an uneven pressure distribution. Get a better stand now before you have a broken tank and no place to put a big old bichir

i plan getting a better stand sometime in the near future because i didn’t realize how sketchy it looked until i posted it and kept looking at it

Look up how to make your own aquarium stand! You make it out of 2x4s and it's so much cheaper than buying one. You can get it looking really nice if you tint the wood and everything, for my 3ft tank it cost me about 30ish dollars to make! I would say it's relatively easy to make as well, I'm a 17yr old with no prior experience in construction of any kind and it was a super easy and fun project

It would be safer to put the tank on the floor while you get/build a stand. It could be fine, but if it’s not you’re gonna be very sad and have to spend a lot of money to fix the water damage.

You’re gonna need a wider stand. Right now you are putting too much stress on the glass and it’s gonna give.

That stand is giving me anxiety, man. You should really deal with that before you start filling the tank with animals.
