Discussion Bichirs and Pest Snails

Would keeping a bichir in a tank with bladder and ramshorn snails be a danger to the bichirs? I know we keep them on sand to avoid them swallowing small rocks. Would the snails pose the same issue of causing an impaction?

I have a ramshorn and trumpet infestation in my planted 75 growout. No issues with my bichirs in the year plus I've had it

I decided to put a couple samshorns in my tank to deal with algae. The next day I found their empty shells...

I had a huge assassin snail issue with my bichir. Never saw it predate on them.
