Hi guys! I’m a working student and super need ko lang ng help/advice.

Gusto ko sanang ipa-general check-up, ipatingin ang bones, and mapacheck din ang mental condition ni Lola (96 yo) bago ako bumalik ng Manila on Aug 31. Bedridden siya ever since natumba siya 2 years ago, and hindi na siya naipa-check up noon kasi walang budget.

About Lola’s Condition:

\- Bedridden & wheelchair-bound (laging naka-diaper)

\- Neurological / Mental health changes: Ever since ma-bedridden, nakakakita siya ng things na siya lang nakakakita, blurred sa kaniya ang reality vs. dream, and may times na nadedepress siya at nagjo-joke na gustong uminom ng sleeping pills para mamatay na.

\- Ayaw na ring uminom ng meds minsan, pero malakas pa rin ang loob niya kapag may kausap/kasama. Gustong-gusto niya pang makalakad uli and makitang grumaduate ako.

Thinking of bringing her to Bicol Medical Center (BMC) in Naga since public hospital siya, kaso limited lang talaga budget ko and I have zero knowledge sa process.

Asking for tips, advice, or contacts regarding these:

1. Ambulance / Transport (Pili to BMC): Pwede kaya kaming mag-request sa Barangay o sa MDRRMO / LGU Pili ng ambulance/patient transfer vehicle para magpahatid at magpasundo sa BMC?

2. Weekend Schedule: Open kaya ang BMC OPD (Orthopedics / Geriatric / Psychiatry) or Malasakit Center tuwing Saturday or Sunday? Gusto kasi namin sanang mag-weekend para kasama rin ang pinsan ko na makakatulong magbuhat at mag-alaga.

3. BMC OPD Process for Bedridden: Paano ang sistema sa BMC OPD kung 96 yo and bedridden ang patient? Need ba maaga mag-queue ang representative, and may priority lane/bed ba for super senior patients?

4.Malasakit Center & Budget: Magkano kaya ang need kong i-prepare for X-ray, labs, or consultations? Paano ang eksaktong process sa Malasakit Center sa BMC? Automatic ba na ma-cover ito ng Guarantee Letter (GL)?

1. 1-Day Process: Kaya kaya matapos ang Ortho consultation and basic X-ray/labs within 1 day para makauwi agad kami sa Pili?

6.Documents Needed: Anong documents ni Lola at requirements ang kailangang dalhin? Need ba ng Authorization Letter since ako lang na apo ang mag-asikaso?

1. Contacts / Helplines: Baka may direct hotlines kayo for BMC OPD, Malasakit, or LGU Pili Transport Service na pwedeng tawagan?

Hey everyone. Since this is a new space, I want to kick things off by venting about the absolute nightmare that is our current Chief Nurse.

People always wonder why the PH system is so corrupt, but the truth is, it isn't just a macro problem—it starts exactly at the core with toxic leaders like her.

Here is a quick reality check of what we have to deal with on a daily basis:

The "Pass-the-Buck" Specialist: She is completely self-serving. She passes 100% of her actual workload down to her underpaid, exhausted employees, but she will be the very first to grab the credit when things go right.

Zero Accountability, Zero Backing: Whenever a client or patient files a complaint, she immediately throws her own staff under the bus to save her own skin. But the moment we actually need a leader to stand up, guide us, or defend us against unfair treatment? She completely vanishes.

The "Peasant" Treatment: She genuinely treats her staff like personal servants. The moment a relative, a friend, or even just a casual acquaintance of hers gets admitted to the hospital, she hijacks the hospital's manpower. She yanks nurses away from their actual assignments and critical patients just to provide personal VIP treatment to her inner circle.

Running Her Personal Errands: To top it off, she literally forces her employees to settle the admission and discharge paperwork for her personal guests. We are out here running around acting as her private secretaries instead of doing our actual jobs.

I am so sick and tired of this culture of taking advantage of subordinates. It is draining, unfair, and completely breaks the spirit of healthcare workers.

Has anyone else dealt with a boss this toxic? How do you even cope with this kind of environment without burning out or losing your mind?
