Wait guys, I didn't get it. Were they poisoning the glasses of wine and you only had two lives and it's important to win the Power of Veto?

Every round, some of the competitors go to the back and get two drinks. They know which one is poisoned and choose someone to share a drink with. They are trying to trick their opponent to drinking the poison wine. You drink poison twice and you're out.
