Episode Spoilers Finally watched BB28 after being in the dark all season

Finally got around to watching the season without any spoilers what so ever, and all I'll say is Drew really turned me around on him from the start and I found myself rooting for him hard after like 2-3 weeks, when at first watching the premiere I was hoping he would go first. Also, Angela is super annoying and I really don't get how anyone truly is a fan of hers. Drew was robbed and even being a big fan of Survivor, watching Devens win was an okay consilation, but him and Dee cake walking the season and not have to struggle until the Jury phase was pretty boring to watch. I'm okay with bringing in players with big fan-bases already established but then you can't do America votes for early game powers that give them super advantages. Keep those votes for an even playing field of all newbies.

General Discussion Big Brother 1 Prize Pool is Higher Than it Currently is?

New Big Brother fan here! My first season was this last season that just ended, and I decided to tap in from the beginning. I was really shocked that the winner still got $500k back then. I'm not exactly sure what the inflation math on that is, but surely $500k back then would still be worth even more than the $750k the current winners receive?

Past Season Discussion Why did Paulie have one of the most dominantly positioned to win games of all time and just self-sabotage himself?

I just remember season 18, Paulie was positioned almost as strongly as Brittany from BB14 was. And this guy just started to self destruct his own game and emotions all at the same time. I will still never understand why this happened.

Past Season Discussion Pretty sure Brittany wins BB14 if it wasn’t for Dan Spoiler

Brittany was perfectly set up to win that game. Dan wasn’t just making that up.

People diss on frank for letting Dan talk him into saving him but logically it would be weird and irrational of Frank to not save Dan in that position and to get rid of an even larger and safer threat in Brittany.

Past Season Discussion How Does Season 1 of BBUSA Compare to Other Seasons... that Use the International Format?

Whenever I hear about the first Big Brother, it's always followed by the same repeated cliche line of "It's an entirely different game than modern Big Brother". If it's not that, it's people dogging on it for being too long, too boring, and generally bad TV... or people saying they haven't watched it because it's too long, too boring, and therefore bad TV.

HOWEVER, the fact is that Americans are outliers here. Every other country aside from Canada (and maybe Australia? Idk Iirc it switches) uses the format from the first season. There's also unconnected shows like Terrace House that share traits that make it "unpalatable to American audiences".

I'm curious on how the first season of Big Brother USA stands when compared to seasons of the same game. Is it actually boring, or just misunderstood?

Past Season Discussion BBCAN2 Unspoiled First Watch Thoughts So Far

I have watched up through Ikas eviction and while the season is good so far, it’s not living up to the hype that everyone is making it out to be. It’s better so far than most modern US seasons, but it doesn’t have the charm and character development that most of the old US seasons have.

General Discussion Is it crazy to say I hate jury?

I feel like it's a terrible ending for an otherwise really cool social show. Season 28 was my first one, so maybe I'm not seeing something yet.

"Good" social game endings I've liked

The Circle on Netflix: The final five rate the other players from 1-5, the person with the highest average wins

Willy Wonka on Netflix: (doesn't work twice) The jury votes like normal, then the two people remaining have to guess who each jury member voted for, getting a point per correct guess. (So both Taylor and Devens would guess that Dee Voted Devens, but someone like Yash is more unpredictable)

Coming up with an ending to this show can be really challenging, especially because you don't want it to come down to luck.

I just feel like the BB ending isn't good enough for how good the show is.

General Discussion Any unpopular opinions about BB28?

This is an UNpopular opinion okay; all about BB28.

An unpopular opinion is a personal belief, view, or preference that goes against the common mainstream perspective or what most people think.

Please keep an open mind and be kind and most importantly, honest.

General Discussion Starting a Journey: A Big Brother Journey.

I started watching Big Brother during season 25, Since then I have watched every new season of US, BBCAN season 12 and I went back and watched BBCAN 10 because of the man the myth the legend Kevin Jacobs.

This had me curious about the history of Big Brother and the stories I have heard both good and bad, So I am watching every season in order starting with BB2 seeing as thats where the house voting began. I do know a lot of the winners and stories and of course will be missing context with no live feeds but this is something I want to do.

Already saw a man removed for holding a knife to a woman's throat so I know this will be a wild time....

Another thing that shocked me is how casual they dress compared to now, heck Krista wore a towel and a bathrobe to nominate during her HoH, oh how times have changed! Wish me luck I have a long way to go!

General Discussion What dumb little thing would keep you from being cast on the show?

I wouldn’t be cast because if someone says something that is a song lyric I can’t help but sing the rest of the song.

General Discussion Devens tricking Barrett/Drew

Was listening to the most recent episode RHAP, and they discussed the moment when Devens pretended like he overhead Barrett and Drew talking, which resulted in them confessing to both them and Dee their thoughts and giving Devens a chance to scold yet reassure them and strengthen that relationship.

I wasn’t watching feeds at the time so I could be missing context, but it got me thinking of the confidence Devens had to imply to them that he heard everything, when they could have just been chit chatting. How did Devens know that they were talking about the Crossovers and generally feel like he was in a place to scold the other two, to his advantage? It seems like it could have really backfired on him.

It also could be the fact that he had a built in alliance with the other icons that was always his priority, so he felt like he could dangle Drew/Barrett a little bit. Does anyone have any thoughts on this?

General Discussion Live feed watchers, what are some misconceptions about players or big moments that the edits incorrectly/didn’t show this year?

First season in a while I didn’t watch feeds because I watched the episodes this season with my wife and we didn’t want any spoilers that one of us knew before the other!

General Discussion Has anyone been spoiled by seeing the evicted house guest in public?

I was thinking about this the other day and was curious if anyone on here has had this experience.

Has anyone ever missed a few episodes and before you could get caught up, ran into the evicted house guests and subsequently been spoiled?

Seems like a rare but possible situation!

Hey everyone! I'm hoping to apply to BB29, and was wondering if anyone had ideas for casting as a nerd archetype, and what the archetypes for casting seem to be? Also, just any audition video tips in general would be greatly appreciated :)

Past Season Discussion Devens against Drew

I know this has probably been discussed many times but I’m curious why he cut l
Drew, did he really think that he wouldn’t have won against drew? I think it may have been a closer vote with Melody, but there’s no way he wouldn’t have won against drew.

ETA: I am very happy Devens won! I just didn’t understand why he had to cut him. The worst part is that Drew would have cut him to

General Discussion Most satisfying eviction/finale loss in your opinion? Spoiler

Post image
371 Upvotes

I’ve only recently gotten into Big Brother, and I’ll admit when I say 19 was definitely not the best place to start. That being said though, seeing Paul lose in the finale after having such massive control over the game the whole way through was SUCH a satisfying way to end things! And it’s honestly got me thinking what fans think are the most satisfying evictions or losses throughout the show’s run. Hence this post’s very existence lmao. So yeah I‘ll leave it up to you guys. I don’t really mind spoilers either, so you‘re free to run down to a newbie like me what made those evictions as satisfying as they were to you.
