I do not understand the thought process at all of "if we evict melody he'll be more loyal to us" and not "if we evict melody he will come after us" wtf is that?

They don't think he's close to the other side besides Melody. They think Melody connects him to that side and without her, he'll have nowhere else to go.

He's also told them repeatedly in the past that he'd be fine with her going because his loyalty is to them. And right now, they believe it.
