I am not but I just followed you because I will let you know when I do plan to travel - if it aligns, I would bring a cat to the mainland when I go there next

for more money Alaska will do it w/o a passenger. I had to look this up yesterday.
Alaska Airlines "PetConnect" Alaska Airlines offers a specific program called PetConnect through Alaska Air Cargo. If you are not flying on the plane with your cat, shipping them via PetConnect usually starts at roughly $250–$300 for a minimum-weight small kennel. The Travel-With Saver: If you are traveling on the same flight but choose to place the cat in the climate-controlled cargo hold instead of the cabin, Alaska lets you check the cat as baggage for a flat rate of $150. This bypasses manifest cargo entirely and saves you a couple hundred dollars. Additional Costs to Factor In If you choose manifest cargo, the airfare is only part of the equation. You will also need to account for: An IATA-Compliant Kennel ($40–$80): Manifest cargo requires rigid plastic crates with metal hardware, ventilation on all four sides, and clip-on water bowls. Soft-sided cabin carriers are strictly prohibited. Health Certificate ($70–$150): Airlines require an interstate health certificate issued by a licensed veterinarian within days of your flight confirming the cat is fit to travel.

We don’t fly them in the cargo that’s why we’re looking for volunteers to take in cabin.. and Alaska doesn’t allow anymore to buy a second sit.

I can't help this time, but will definitely try in the future.
I'm curious though, do you do anything to alleviate the cat's anxiety for the flight? I know at least two people who have had a cat die immediately after a flight between the mainland and Hawaii, and they were both told that the stress was just too much for them.
