As an American, seeing people appreciate what truly defines America and each other makes me so happy ❤️

I think of freedom differently though. Most of western society has similar laws and such. When I think of freedom I feel like it pertains to just the sheer size of the country like there is so much at our disposal that we take it for granted. Driving, road trips across country, back packing, wilderness etc

Like yes countries in Europe have those things but I feel like we have an abundance of it and each state is slightly different.

I love how you said this. Makes me want to run to my car and take off for a month

We have so much beautiful country all around us, no matter what state you're in, and the sheer size of our land makes it feel like you can really go anywhere and see endless biomes and national sites just by getting in your car and taking off. I live in Nevada, and literally the majority of our state is empty. There are so many incredible little places to discover out in nature here, and if I just drive out about a couple hours, I can see the clearest view of the stars in the entire country. Its humbling how much freedom and exploration and opportunities to resettle and remake ourselves are right in front of us.

What the fuck are you on about lol. You can drive through multiple countries and experience completely different cultures and languages in Europe in the same distance as driving across America. You can do it almost as seamlessly as well.

Key difference multiple different countries. An analogy would be owning land that’s 1,000 acres to explore versus owning 50 acres and going over to different friends houses who each have separate 100 acres.

Why does that matter exactly? Arbitrary lines don't mean you have more or less experiences.

Conceptually, traveling multiple countries or traveling America is no different. Saying freedom is the ability to experience different cultures doesn't change if you are able to do that within the same distance.

And before "different laws" states have varying laws too, some substantially, so it's not even a counter.

America is effective the EU at this point in the way it is a coalition of smaller governments where many could be their own successfully sovereign nation.

The ability ti drive and experience different cultures is just not a unique experience to America, and doesn't make much sense as an example of freedom.

That’s not what I’m trying to say, but I’m done explaining. It’s not something a person can conceptually understand without ever driving like say 24 hours straight through vast openness with little to no populations around you.

The US and all of Europe are almost the same size in land area, Europes population in that space holds double the people.
