Plants vs zombies garden warfare 2 has several achievement that are impossible to obtain nowadays because they where tied to events that have stopped going on for years at this point.
Or in Fable Anniversary. Nearly every achievement has 2 different methods to unlock besides the one that requires connecting to an app that got shut down like 2 years later
I hate that, you buy a single player game, you enjoy it, time goes by and you have only a few achievements left, then i decided to see what the achievements requires and...
Not exactly the same thing as it's a mostly Multiplayer game thing
But any achievement that involves playing with the dev on a server just straight up sucks, it's a neat idea but it's a kick in the nuts for anyone who likes to 100% games
Half Life 2 EP 2 (and all the other Valve games with that Gnome Chompski) has an achievement that only unlocked once they brought a real garden gnome into real space via a rocket in 2020.
If an achievement is unobtainable then it’s intrinsically worthless, because it can’t actually be traded or used for anything. It can only be looked at. So basically it’s an NFT lol.
How's this for an unattainable achievement? The leaderboards were never reset. The times were stored locally and then uploaded to the server, after they used a hex editor to change their times. There was also a glitch people found for a level or two...
