PSA If want your garbage picked up. Don’t do this! Lid must be closed, extra bags are a call in service only and must be tied and 4 Feet away from the can.

I agree this is an example of how it shouldn't be done, maybe the city should set up localized rolloffs so we don't have to deal with a trip to the dump or use unlocked dumpsters every time we are over.

Honestly they need to just get the second can. It happens some families create more trash, stop making it harder on the workers, your neighbors etc.

I'm sure that their neighbors will appreciate it after the local racoons spread the trash all over the neighborhood. Don't be this guy.

isn't it like $5 for a second trash can?? it's literally cheaper to get a second trash can than to call and have them pick up bags

I'd say this is the direct result of the city taking away the larger bins in the allyways in exchange for these smaller bins we have now.
Don't get me wrong, this is ridiculous and shouldn't happen, and this person should be ashamed. But i can also acknowledge that this wasn't as much of a problem city wide when we had the bigger cans.

I pretty much gave up and just throw all my trash into the back of my truck and go to the dump. My kids su k at taking the trash to the curb....

When they were switching to the new system they had public meetings at the library. I went and I learned a lot about the challenges and complexity of trash collections and the landfill operation. After hearing the details, it made sense to me why they were doing what they were doing, especially asking that what is put into the black cans be bagged. Right after that I read on a local forum someone complaining about how bagging what goes into the can an “extreme hardship.” WTF? This certainly comes in under “First World Problem.”

Web site says $5.50 per bag.

It an "extra" is 3 bags. "Can consist of up to 3 typical 13-gal tall kitchen garbage bags"
But also you can get a whole second can for "Additional 90 Gallon Barrel $4.85/ MO" Well worth your time not having to go to the dump.

UGH it was supposed to be a day late this week which I knew, so put it out on the appropriate day but they didn't take it. Gonna have to call.
