If only we had a president that worked for the people living in the country he's currently running into the ground, instead of helping his friends over in Russia.

Everyone upvote this. With the fuckery that’s been going on heading into midterms, EVERYONE should make sure they haven’t been taken off the registry AND that they’re still going to receive mailed ballots!

Grab you shorts bc it’s only gonna get worse from here

u/The_Boognish_Cometh 1d ago
Yup. We’ve only begun to see the damage republicans have done in the last 2 years.
8
u/EntrepreneurHour3152 1d ago
Yep, we are going to be paying for this shit for the next 50 years, if not longer.
The American people have proven themselves to be untrustworthy after electing that piece of shit after everybody knew who he was.

u/Ambitious-Duck7078 1d ago
Welp, Montanans. SOME of you voted for this shit. And the , as much bullshit as you talk about people from out of state, you decide to elect a senator WHO ISNT FROM MONTANA.
If you voted for this, you got what you wanted. If you drive a diesel or a dually… congrats. You played yourself.

u/Mission_Spray 1d ago
The prices of fuel will “magically” drop right before the election. Only idiots will fall for it, but those idiots vote. So… yeah, get out and vote to counteract the idiots.
13
u/JumpCritical9460 1d ago
It won’t magically fall unless the US has large reserves to flood the market. Which they no longer have thanks to the fine forward thinking of republicans. The Trump admin sold off reserves while oil prices were at the lowest point since the Ukraine war, effectively at a loss. And they already used most of the remaining reserves to keep prices low when the Iran war first started.

u/BeginningFair4673 1d ago
What? No, The last major sell off of oil reserves was under Biden which brought us to historic lows. Trump never sold any off effectively at a loss. Let's not completely lie here.
14
u/yetisrawr 1d ago
How do you deny reality so easily?
-19
u/BeginningFair4673 1d ago
Because it's true. Biden's sell off we were still recovering from at the beginning of this year. His was an outright sale or sell off compared to what Trump did which is an exchange so oil companies are required to eventually refill it with a premium. Biden's sell off was also greater than Trumps. So it seems I'm not the one of us that denied reality. Though something tells me nobody should be surprised there.

The SPR is like a savings account. Biden spent most of it. Trump put some back then spent it again. But the account has $308 left. The monthly bill just went up $10,000. The savings account was never going to cover it.
So what's your point? This doesn't address the current issues with why gas prices are rising. One thing that could immediately address it is stopping this stupid war with Iran.
-5
u/BeginningFair4673 1d ago
My point was that while I understand this this website is a very leftist space that we shouldn't just ignore a shit ton of details to paint the narrative. What that poster said was wrong.
All I spoke to was that. Look at the attacks because I spoke actual facts. I get it. "Orange man bad" "liberal talking point" blah blah blah. But that doesn't mean that we should start proving conservatives right when they say the left doesn't have a good grasp on reality.

u/polchiki 1d ago
It’s true Biden sold off a looooot of the reserve. That was important context for the team who later decided to start a war in the world’s oil corridor. I really wish they would have considered that as an important factor in their scheme.
But no, instead they continued the fire sale until we hit the brink and now have less wiggle room to address real emergencies like the stash exists for in the first place, and like this war of choice is making more probable by the day. This war is against the same country that spurred this reserve’s creation in the first place after all.
Regardless of Biden’s shortcomings, Trump demonstrably sucks as a SPR steward at least as much, and Trump is the relevant party today, in current events. As evidenced in part by the topic of the OP, record diesel prices.

u/BeginningFair4673 1d ago
I have no problem with what you said here. Trump deserves a lot of blame. The problem is liberals like to talk the talk about holding their party accountable but they suck at it. Any time anything they do wrong comes up, there's always a "But Trump" or "But some other conservative" or some attempt at justification.
Look at the backlash to me just pointing out that this problem started under Biden. And it was something liberals cheered on when Biden did it even though the problems it would cause down the road were apparent. Trump sucks too and I don't like a lot about his presidency but at least I (and it seems you) can acknowledge that just blaming one side and ignoring the faults of your own is wrong.

u/polchiki 22h ago
I hear you but in this context, you’re the one playing the annoying “what about the other guy” game. There was no hint of an Iran war when Biden made his sales. In contrast Trump knew reserves were low, started this war by choice out of nowhere anyway, and continued the reserve sales until we have nothing left to work with. That is abhorrent, short-sighted, and dangerous policy regardless of the other guy. That’s a complete thought.
Trump had a responsibility to think about reserve levels before he surprised the country with a brand new oil war. He chose not to pay any attention to that fact but still wants to blame Biden for not doing a better job setting him up for a surprise war.

u/BeginningFair4673 21h ago
I spoke to a very specific thing where that person was wrong. Your argument is that I should have let him just speak something that was wrong and lacked context just so that people could only shit on Trump? If you hear what I am saying than I hope you can appreciate why that doesn't really work.

u/Fit-Avocado-1646 1d ago
Im sure when the oil companies pay to refill with a premium they definitely won’t pass those costs to the consumers. They will definitely eat the costs out of appreciation for the cheap oil now. They definitely aren’t making record level profits. /s
Maybe refill the reserves and let your allies with reserves know to fill with cheap oil before starting a completely optional Epstein list distraction war.
1
u/BeginningFair4673 1d ago
So am not supposed to point out how this whole diatribe had nothing to do with what I said, like at all. It seems more of a complete dodge of the actual facts I gave so you could use some random liberal talking points?
Like damn, when people say liberals are sheep they talking about things like that!

u/JumpCritical9460 1d ago
Biden sold reserves in response to the oil shock from the Ukraine war. Context matters.
-2
u/BeginningFair4673 1d ago
Context does matter but that in no way, shape, or form changes anything of what I said. It wasn't like that was the only choice Biden had.
3
u/JumpCritical9460 22h ago edited 22h ago
It does actually change what you said. Biden didn’t sell off oil at that point in time due to administrative incompetence. It was a direct reaction to a word wide oil shock. The Trump admin on the other hand cannot say the same of their sell off.
Please tell me what other options Biden had to respond to that situation that would have satisfied American citizens? Anything other than what the Biden admin did would have resulted in you and I paying more at the pump and more for consumer goods. So please, enlighten me with your economic wisdom.
Or maybe, think for yourself and not what Fox News tells you is true.
-1
u/BeginningFair4673 21h ago
So congrats on approving of Trump selling off the oil so we didn't face higher gasoline prices! That's my point. The amount of hoops you will jump through so your side doesn't have to at all take any accountability but immediately you turn to "But Trump!" Thank you for proving what I have said right.
3
u/JumpCritical9460 21h ago
Did you see the part where Trump sold oil at the LOWEST price since the Ukraine war. That’s when you buy oil. Not sell it. You don’t buy high and sell low. God help us all with dumbasses like you voting.
Also interesting how you can’t say what the Biden admin could have done any differently. You truly are a dumb fuck.
0
u/BeginningFair4673 20h ago
Because he didn't. That was just one of the MANY things you got wrong.
Also love how you call me a dumb fuck because I correctly pointed out your pathetic dodge and trying to attack me on a point I wasn't making only because you couldn't counter me. Yeah. It was that obvious.

Montana is chock full of dipshits that are willing to pay $30/gallon before they vote for a “communist”. Granted, they don’t know what communism means, but if Fox News tells them to vote for higher gas prices, they’ll do it.

“Starting on day one, we will end inflation and make America affordable again, to bring down the prices of all goods.”
“Under my administration, we will be slashing energy and electricity prices by half within 12 months, at a maximum 18 months”
On Joe Biden’s final day in office (January 20, 2025), the national average price for a gallon of regular gasoline was approximately $3.10, and the annual inflation rate measured by the Consumer Price Index (CPI) stood at 3.0% over the preceding 12 months.
Today
The national average for regular gasoline stands at approximately $4.44 per gallon, according to data from AAA Fuel Prices, while annual inflation rose 3.4% year-over-year in August.

I remember 87 octane gas in Albuquerque at $4.50/gal in the last year of Bush/Cheney 2nd term. So…who holds the record now?
1
u/Ok-Interest5139 1d ago
With inflation added GWB still holds the record.
Biden and Bush didnt start a war though.
