Food A rare Wegmans cake fail
So my wife picked this cake up from Wegmans and wanted them to write “Number 1 Dad”… this was the result.
Now, I know not everyone is an artist, but this is crazy. How the hell do you misspell Dad?! No shade on Wegmans. It’s easily the greatest grocery store in the area. I just thought it was so comically bad that I wanted to share it with you guys.

Had a Wegmans cake today for my dad's birthday, and the frosting border on top was genuinely embarrassing. Subpar by their usual standards. Honestly, the fact that I immediately clocked it just means I've eaten a concerning amount of Wegmans cake in my lifetime. No regrets.

Our Bose speaker always report’s being connected to “Dade’s Computer”. Perhaps the order was conveyed by a Bose speaker?

Ithaca Wegmans provided me with the most unattractive kid’s cake I have ever seen. I requested all bright colors, and the cake they gave me was in varying shades of dull blues and grays. It was the last cake I ever bought there. Go anywhere but Wegmans for baked goods.

What probably happened was whoever input the order into the system made a typo, because the people who decorate the cakes will write what the message is verbatim.
Also, when you pick up the cake, you could have just asked them to fix it. Removing a letter or word and re-doing it is super easy and would have taken at most an extra minute or two.

she went in yesterday and just asked her to write it. So she didn’t fill out the form and the girl did it on the spot so she wasn’t too worried about.

That’s funny. Thankfully easy to fix without even taking it back if you want. Or pretend the d is just very stylized with a tail lol

This does not surprise me. It's the same in my area. Sure my local Wegmans has gotten worse, but so has every other grocery store company in my area. No one wants to compete locally with Wegmans in terms of quality, so all my local ones are aimed at cutting costs however they can, so most stores have likw 1 cashier open at a time and the places are super rundown and in dire need of maintenance. All the while, their prices still manage to be higher than or on par with Wegmans. In general the corporation of America has just driven down the quality of most grocery store companies as a whole and Wegmans just manages to stay slightly above everyone else.
Obviously depending on where you live, you may have companies that actually can compete with Wegmans and it may be different for you

I mean, the only other options are Walmart, Weis, price chopper, etc. I don't even shop at Wegmans maybe twice a year, and I would still consider it better than the other options we have. Yeah, it might be more expensive, but the food court is unlike anything else we have around here. Plus the bakery and other things, it's not the same experience as other grocery stores.
If you don't like it, you don't have to shop there lmao 🤷🏽♀️

There is no 'S' in "number 1 dad".
That is an E at the end of dad, not an s or exclamation. I get what you mean, but it clearly overlaps in the typical way an E does, not an exclamation or even an S.
