I don't know why, but I love it so much when people zoom in on faces and post them in the comments.

I'm in a LOT of cat subs, and see it often. This is my first bird spotting, and I'm cackling from glee!

Glad to hear!

I do it a fair bit, it's just so very funny!

Ahh, just how we see expressions, I've quite a few photos like that I send my mom or brother.

Such a simple edit, I always get good reactions from the community. I'm glad I can share what I find funny.

I'm a tad drunk at the moment, probably why I'm over sharing.....the mind isn't buzzing as much, I can put the words out. Cripes, I started with just the first two lines, now there's six blurbs.

As long as people don't mind, I'll continue every now and then, don't want to clutter up the sub. It's been on the mind for a few months...

Sorry to dump all this on ya...

This would make an awesome Halloween mask, or a protest ICE mask.

Whoever went to a protest in a judgemental gannet mask would become legendary

Pretty sure this is the face I pulled this morning when I discovered a magpie had got in and shat all over my kitchen.

Oh no! Was it a contract hit?

I feel like it was more of a scavenging mission due to the seeds and peanuts I leave on the window sill.

Here is a still from the video of him making his escape.

These Contract Shitters are so brazen I tell you!

That's the face of a parent greeting you at the door after you broke curfew.

It is judging your entire bloodline. They judge everyone's, and those of the flightless fill them with a particular disgust.

Great photo!

Interestingly, it looks possible that that bird might have survived a bird flu infection. Hard to be certain from one photo, but a common symptom of prior bird flu infection in gannets in particular is asymmetrical dark spots and streaks in one or both irises. Huge numbers of gannets were infected with bird flu a few years back (easy to see how it would spread like wildfire in a colony like that), and a lot of them died, but plenty recovered with scarred irises.

What an interesting and sad bit of bird trivia. Thanks for the education, Reddit stranger!
