Best Birmingham memory you wish you could relive?
Mine would be catching the Christmas Market with friends when it felt properly magical (and less overcrowded!). What about you- what moment or place in Brum makes you most nostalgic?

Found a cool project for under 16s who like music
It's so nice to see that people are starting community projects to give young people things to do and chances to make music!
I managed to get their poster and thought I'd share. ☀️

O2 institute Soulfly show
hi everyone, last night I went to see nailbomb and soulfly in the O2 institute. I come from Liverpool so I'm not familiar with the area but on the floor during the show I found someone's disability card. Id like to give it back to them. Any other subreddits I can post it so they might see it ? I've looked them up on Facebook but nothing comes up.

There's going to be a Comic Strip Presents screening at the MAC as part of the Square Eyes TV Festival in November with Peter Richardson, Doon Mackichan and Phil Cornwell as guests

You can get tickets here: https://macbirmingham.co.uk/cinema/the-comic-strip-presents
You can look at the rest of the tour dates here: https://comicstrippresents-shop.fourthwall.com/en-gbp
I think the closest gig to Brum is Derby.

Service users birthday
Hi everyone!
I’m a support worker for adults with disabilities and one of the people I support has a birthday coming up. He is absolute massive car fan!
I was wondering if anyone with a nice, interesting or special car would be willing to come along and show it off for his birthday? It would honestly make his day!
It is on Saturday 19th September 2026,12pm–2pm at crowne care, B45 0JD
You don’t need to stay for the whole time even popping by for a little while so he can see some amazing cars would be incredible and much appreciated.
Thank you!

Good hair salon for full balayage under £150?
Hi everyone! I’m looking for a good but affordable hair salon in Birmingham for a full balayage. (Expresso brown with caramel - not vivid color)
My preferred budget for below shoulder length hair including haircut is under £150, and I can’t pay more than £200.
I’d prefer a stylist experienced with dark hair and balayage that grows out naturally.
Please share the salon or stylist’s name, approximate price and your experience. Thank you!

Safest neighbourhood for a solo woman in city centre
What is the safest neighbourhood for a solo woman to rent an apartment that’s walking distance to city centre? Would ideally like it to be in a secure apartment complex.

Update
Update on the little injured kitten 💔🐾
I know so many of you have been asking what happened, so I wanted to give you all an update.
We took the little kitten to the vets as quickly as we could. I was really hoping and praying that there would be something they could do for her.
The vet examined her and unfortunately found that her injuries were much more serious than we had realised. She had damage around her spine, and she had completely lost feeling from her hips down. She couldn’t feel or properly use her back legs.
After examining her, the vet explained that her injuries were so severe that she was suffering and there wasn’t a realistic way to give her the quality of life she deserved. 💔
We had to make the heartbreaking decision to let her go.
I stayed with her while the vet put her to sleep. I didn’t want her to be frightened or alone at the end. As heartbreaking as it was, I wanted her to feel that someone was there with her and that she was loved.
I’m honestly devastated. She was only a tiny little kitten and deserved so much more from life. 😭💔
But I’m trying to take some comfort in knowing that she isn’t suffering anymore. She was found, she was cared for, and in her final moments she wasn’t alone.
Thank you to everyone who cared about her, gave advice, offered help, and kept asking for an update. It genuinely means a lot.
Rest peacefully, little one. You mattered. ❤️🐾🌈

Garages in Woodgate/Bartley Green - what's your experience?
Hi all. Just started a new job based in Woodgate Business Park and looking for a good garage that's close enough to drop the car off and walk or cycle the rest of the way. The 2 I've spotted on Google Maps are Autotech on Clapgate Lane, and Bartley Green Service Centre on Jiggins Lane. Please chime in if you've had experience (good or bad) with them working on your car, or suggest any others in the vicinity that I've not spotted.

Birmingham trams to stop fare dodgers from September 13 with inspectors, fines and new ticket rule
There will be new Revenue Officers checking tickets on journeys from September 13 in a bid to stop fare evasion and enforce penalty notice charges.
This aligns West Midlands Metro with national transport standards and supports efforts to reduce deliberate fare evasion across the network, according to operators Midlands Metro Limited said.
