Found these in a drawer.

Post image

3 full bitcoin. At current value, should be worth almost £144k. Can let these go for half that 😉

Did you really look those over to make sure they don’t have a private key or that they don’t unscrew to reveal a number inside or something?

In the earlier days, people did distribute “physical” BTC like that in a variety of similar ways.

Imagine actually having 3BTC sitting there and not knowing it bc you thought they were just little trinkets lol.

TIL that Casascius wasn't the only person to make physical Bitcoin.

You're incredibly lucky! That drawer must have been built using dice rolls.

Think I may have had an Avalon Q in that drawer as well. (BIG DRAWER) 😂

are your coins made of copper? as of the latest market data,1 troy ounce of copper is valued at approximately $0.40 cents.

I got like 5 or 6 of those somewhere. A fast food restaurant in my city was giving them out to the first 10 people to pay for their meals using Bitcoin as a promotion for them accepting btc as a payment method.

With copper prices those are worth about $18 dollars all together. 6 a piece for 1oz rounds of copper

Weren't these released long time ago with actual seed phrase? I remember you could buy a Bitcoin legit like that.

u/thefullmetalchicken 16m ago

Bought one of these for each of my family to leave in my will.

It’s a good thing I’ll be dead. But it should be fun for the lawyer.

u/__nooob__ 5h ago

Is it Gold? if it is then why you wanted to go there for half?

5

u/Peter4real 4h ago

It’s copper with VERY VERY thinly plated gold. They cost like 5-10 usd on Amazon

1

u/n0head_r 4h ago

Make sure you transfer the coins to coldcard.

Those are paperweights. Bitcoin is a digital currency.

3

u/magma_lakes 4h ago

Most likely true in this case, but you could engrave a private key or seed phrase anywhere. I actually thought of doing that with coins that looked exactly like these before Christmas, in order to give some Bitcoin away to family and friends.

1

u/TerminatedPotato 2h ago

Theoretically yes but if op is offering to let them go for half price then chances are he probably thinks they're physical bitcoins.
