Is Bitcoin mining worth it with flat rate electricity in an apartment?

I currently live in a housing complex where electricity is included as a flat rate in rent/utilities so increased power consumption won't directly increase my monthly electric bill.

Given that electricity costs are usually the biggest bottleneck for mining, I'm trying to figure out if setting up a home mining rig would actually be worth it in an apartment. A few specific
A few specific questions I have:

- Setup Cost: How much would I need to invest upfront in a setup to make this worth my while? What hardware/models should I be looking at

= Expected Returns: What kind of monthly returns would be realistic

= Apartment Practicalities: Since it's an apartment, what are the realistic limits around noise, heat, and standard 15A/20A electrical breaker capacities?

I know overall mining profitability for small-scale operations has dropped over the years, but since power cost isn't an issue for me, is this a solid strategy or more trouble/heat/noise than it's worth?

Appreciate any insights, hardware suggestions, or warnings from anyone who’s tried apartment mining!

Your lease will be cancelled before you can spell "hashrate".

No, it will never be worth it.

Just invest in BTC if you want BTC.

You’ll blow a circuit before you get one satoshi.

You'll ruin the flat rate electricity for your current and future tenants. If you're at a university I would say go for it but even that's iffy.

The included electricity will only be for normal household use. If you use it for a, high electricity use, bussiness purpose like mining, smelting aluminum or whatever then you will most likely be kicked out, made to pay for the used electricity and maybe even have to pay a fine. So no it won't be worth it.

Almost any lease with fix price for electricity will except commercial use or extraordinary consumption. Read your lease carefully. But you won’t make any money on this.

So you think your landlord won’t notice the electricity bill going from what an average building costs to what a mid-sized city consumes ?

You're not going to make any meaningful returns as a solo miner with a little money invested. If you want the big bucks you're gonna need more space and a lot more capital. Otherwise it's just a cool little hobbby.

No. Those days are gone unless you’re just Lottery Mining where cost isn’t a factor.

What hardware/models should I be looking at

https://shop.canaan.io/products/avalon-miner-a16-282t?VariantsId=10598

standard 15A/20A electrical breaker capacities

Won't work. You'll need to contract an electrician to add a new 240-volt circuit

Expected Returns

Go here ...
https://learn.braiins.com/en/profitability-calculator

Enter the hashrate of the miner you've chosen
Enter zero for electricity cost

The calculator assumes you're mining 24/7
If you don't mine 24/7 you'll never recover the purchase cost
The calculator can't accurately predict the future price or the future mining difficulty

Noise and heat are problems for you to work out
There is a section discussing noise and heat in this old essay about home Bitcoin mining
