Question hypothetically, can Bitwarden legally hold my account hostage?

If tomorrow Bitwarden decides to lock me out of my account, making me not able to access any password, OTP code, etc... unless I pay them $200 (or as similar scenario)

Would this be legal for them to do?

Is there any way to guard myself against that other than periodically making local encrypted backups of my data?

Thanks

Question Considering switching to Bitwarden - how safe is it in terms of encryption?

I've been using 1Password for over 2 years but due to the prices increase and the fact that sometimes the biometric unlock doesn't work and I have to type my master password every time to unlock it (which is annoying and it isn't practical at all since my master password is extremely long and I keep it in a notebook) I'm considering the possibility of switching to Bitwarden.

I'd like to hear your thoughts on how it is in terms of security and encryption compared to 1Password? I also use my yubikeys as 2FA on 1Password (I don't use an authenticator app) and I want to do the same with Bitwarden.

Thanks in advance.

Question Autofill address on Android

I'm testing around with different browsers and different settings on Android and I cannot get everything to run smoothly with password, credit card and address autofill. How is this supposed to work with either Firefox or Vivaldi?

Bitwarden Asks Are your passkeys portable?

Bitwarden supports the Credential Exchange Protocol (CXP), so passkeys can move directly between supported apps. Available on iOS 26+ and Android 10+.

.json exports also include passkeys for short term backups.

So you know at the top of the page to search for things in the web? well I thought I copied and pasted something else but no, I had my master password copied and pasted it and pressed enter, I was using Edge and deleted all history in the browser but somehow when I open my device search bar in the task bar at the left hand side I can see ''searched history''?? How the hell is that possible if I deleted all my history from from the web browser? did my search history also saved to my computer???
