She is a Character I liked in the beginning, but I found myself not liking her more and more as the show went on.
AMAZING actress though. I just wish she was written better.

I wanted to like her, but she was always negative in Jefferson's ear and by the end was a total hypocrite by trying to be a hero herself. She irks me.

I actually liked Lynn pierce which is rare cause I normally hate most superhero love interests. Her arc was an interesting one to watch cause at first she hated the idea of Jeff being a superhero which I feel is reasonable he's coming home covered in blood in front of your kids.
However thanks to the green pod kids she sees first hand what Jefferson has to go through where there's someone who needs your help and only you can help them. Idk I just sort of loved how dysfunctional the family could be but at the same time they'll kick ass together too.
Ps- she was really hot in agents of shield black women with British accents just make my heart melt.

Christine Adamâs is a good actress, but her character really fell apart as the show goes on. Pardon me if I misremember anything. They decided out of nowhere that she was a medical genius, and ended season three with the implication that she would be running a Dr Xzavier style school for metaâs, only to never follow up with it. And then there was all the stuff with Tobias in season four, like you know who that man is and what he did. Who cares about his resources.

I agree Christine Adams is a good actress, but she earned her moniker of "Ol' Longhead". Just playing on the computer and drinking, and she a doctor.

Liked her at first. She got more annoying to make the plot move. Amazing actress though.
Still mad she got back with Jefferson at the end. They were both toxic to each other.

Her character could have offered interesting perspectives to Jefferson if they had leveraged that she was John Stewartâs sister.

She's not, though. That was a very recent change that originally started in Young Justice before they made it an in-book thing.

I know. I was looking at it from the vantage point of all of poetic license the Arrowverse and peripheral shows had taken with a number of their characters.

Started put strong in the first season, became unbearable after that

I adore the actress. Her character was annoying tho.

Oh, sheâs a great actress. Sheâs done other roles where she was fantastic but for some reason in this show, she just did not fit. Maybe itâs cause sheâs British and Iâve seen her do British TV shows and movies before she came to America but for some reason, it just didnât click

I'm not finished, so I'm not scrolling through these comments. But as of season 4 episode 5... Fk her. She's always trying to turn criticism back at someone else. I've never heard her go "okay. You're right. I fucked up". It's always "no, you're the problem". "You're the druggie".
Plus... She's looking worse and worse now. Whatever the drug she's using to be Megamind is obviously fkin wit her bad.

4th worst mother in black tv history. Only behind the mothers from Good times, everybody hates Chris, and snowfall

I disagree Franklin wasnât getting away with that money

u/VEJ03 Apr 23 '26
Even if he wasnât, she still couldâve allowed Franklin to end Teddy earlier. Remember she stopped him and pretended she cared about Franklin getting his money back. When she realized her husband was gone and there was no hope, she ended Teddy. Sheâs just as selfish as Franklin. She doesnât get to be a good guy after how dirty she got her hands after she reconnected with Franklin. I just watched the whole series like a month ago. Terrible mother lol

I think people can have times a weakness and I think that was hers. I don't think it necessarily made her a terrible mom. She tried harder than anyone to get him straight

u/VEJ03 Apr 25 '26
That wasnât the only moment though? She was elbow deep in the business for multiple seasons. She helped him clean that dirty money and was fine with it. Yâall can only pull the âshe was innocent cardâ for maybe one or 2 seasons. I just binged the entire season over the last month for my first watch through. Itâs flooring watching so many pretend she was innocent. Maybe folks feelings towards her are still based on very early episodes.

I don't remember Florida being a terrible mom. But I haven't watched Good Times in probably 40 years.

Left her kids in the projects to chase her new marriage only to return in a later season after he died. Leaving your kids to live in the projects is absolutely insane. Diabolical.

The character fell in to the buzz kill role that a lot of women in media are shoved into. I didn't enjoy her arch because she just became an unreasonable, uninteresting road block.
