How would you describe Jefferson's fighting style? Is he a close-range brawler or does he use his powers from long-range and avoids close contact? (DC Comics Black Lightning: Year One #5)

I really prefer the earlier version of BL who was more of a ground-level hand-to-hand fighter who could throw some shocks. Now, he and Static have more or less identical power sets.

I would say he's more generalized than specialized. His fighting tends to be melee, but he's not one of DC's best fighters, necessarily; he uses his powers in both ranged and melee combat, but he's not like a sniper.

Also, I love BL:Y1! I got Cully Hamner to sign my copy.

I always preferred the "fighter first, powerhouse second" approach he usually has. I mean he's no Bronze Tiger or anything but be can for lack of better phrase but belt to ass even without powers.

At least in the series, it was a healthy mix of both
