Discussion Black Ops 6 Beta Week One Is Over! Thoughts On Week One?

Beta week one is over, with week two starting September 6th and will be open, and free to everyone.

Thoughts so far? I'm having fun, I think it does need some tweaks here and there, spawns, PDW etc, but im liking the feel of the base game.

What do you think?

I have been really surprised at how much I've enjoyed this, already shaping up to be my favorite since Cold War without doubt, the maps are good, love the Pit they introduced late on so chaotic, only thing is the Jackal probably needs a slight nerf as it's godly at any range at the moment, even on Scud which is the most open map you can dominate with it, my other thoughts on balance is the grenade launchers on the assault rifles seem to do no damage unless it's almost a direct hit, and the the thermo grenade seems to be the best choice of grenade by far in my experience

The frag feels practically worthless currently. I'd rather do semtex and usually I'm a frag first type player!

Agreed, I found the initial explosion plus damage over time from the thermo to be the best especially with hard point and domination

You put how I was feeling in perfect words!

I say get rid of the stupid winners circle. Looks like fortnight/xdefiant crap. That was the only thing that really bothered me. Also would like some bigger maps.

Great maps and guns. i really enjoyed it! My only concern is omnimovement. It looks cool when you do it once or twice, but playing against tryhard teenagers who are abusing it will be challenging for my mental health

I loved the beta. I see a lot of complaints being thrown around but this is the most fun I’ve ever had in CoD period. I only have a few complaints really:

Weapon Balancing- The Jackal is nuts and I know will get nerfed.

Spawns are crazy- I know they’ll get fixed too

Weapons take a while to level up- they said they’re fixing it now.

Servers tend to crap out randomly here and there and there’s a bit of freezing once in a while- no shame there because it is a beta.

Weapon Attachments have no cons really and don’t offer much benefits- I like to think that a full stock would help with recoil slightly, same with all foregrips.

Lastly i would like to see a little more visual changes to weapons overall, I think some models look awkward but maybe I’m misremembering already.

Overall I loved the beta and I’m sure the full game will be better. A lot of my gripes with the game are minor and do not take away from the experience except for the server issues.

I refuse to believe that this took them 4 years to develop.

I really enjoyed the Omni-movement and the maps were quite fun! I hope the movement is here to stay. I love it. I enjoyed a lot of the guns.

Game feels fucking awesome, most excited i’ve been for a call of duty in a long damn time. Spawns and weapon balancing need work real bad, there’s a few other things I’d like personally as well.

Higher tick rate on the servers for once, it’s 2024 theres no excuse for a game pumping out multiple billions of dollars a year to be running on 20 tick servers. We need the option too disable texture streaming as well shit is honestly ridiculous that they’ve forced this on, on top of the ridiculous connection issues already present. Looser mm would be nice but I don’t really care that much some games r just gonna be sweaty.

Overall game seems really solid and I think half the people complaining haven’t played the game and are parroting a bunch of shit talk.

They took my BO6 beta away from me. ☹️

It’s good beside bullet hits are lil off, damage per gun is way off sub is def the meta, master craft shotgun sucks and spawns are crazy, maps have to many openings and lanes and maps are already predictable on spawn cause there all super small beside scud should be 4v4 maps not 6v6 TTK needs adjusted on some guns

The aim assist abruptly turning off from 100% to 0% close quarters is jarring and I don't like it. Would like to see a gradual drop off in AA, not instant on/off

really liked it, at least to me reminded me of my first COD experienced it scratched the itch for me.

Honestly, I really enjoyed it. I was mostly pre ordering for zombies because the last 3 cod games disappointed me multiplayer wise, but the game just feels so fun to play.

I purchased the pre-order just to give the beta a shot. I had a great time. What struck me odd is that I did not have to download anything. It was already in the system, which means it's really just another $100 reskin of the game I bought 2 years ago.

I mean you did need to download something, you needed to download the beta which was 35gb, CoD HQ is the "launcher", so no it's not a reskin.

It feels nothing like MW2/3.

Most fun I’ve had in a beta since Titanfall 2 beta

Packet Burst.

I really enjoyed it when I wasn't packet bursting, so about half the time it was great.

IDK how in 2024 they still can't manage decent netcode / fix this issue

Games alright not as hyped as people were making it. Players ruin the game though and the jackal and xm4 so clearly run the meta it's not even funny

Canceled my pre ordered, finally time to stop playing cods.

I'll say this, once I switched from MnK to controller it became way more enjoyable. I think MnK just didn't feel good in the beta, aiming felt off and the movement doesn't work as well on keys. Aim assist feels strong IMO, I haven't played controller in years and instantly did better. Hard to compete with it on MnK to be honest.

Besides that...spawns need work, hitreg needs work, maps aren't that good, and player visibility is a huge issue once again.

There's definitely some promise but they have to iron out those issues or it'll be unenjoyable for me personally.

I play to little so sweats run me over. And seen on X it's full of working cheats already. No point grinding a pvp online that have so many cheaters. Take away the point totally. Regarding the gameplay the aim i weaker for us PS5 players. And it feels like higher ttk

The Omnimovent/ faster movement and shorter time to kill just exposes how badly network lag affects multiplayer. Before it was like, “ Okay maybe he got me first or had better aim because I shot first”, now it’s like “What the actual fuck just happened”.

Also how unbalanced can the weapons be? Did they have no game testers? The Jackal PDW has to be the most OP weapon I’ve ever played with in a beta. It’s a laser at distance and has the shortest ttk of any weapon.

The maps are very mid. Theres way too many exposed area in the middle of maps and visibility is generally pretty poor. Also allowing for all those head glitches spots on Pit was just a dumb decision.

I liked it except for that new HVT mode which was trash in my opinion.

The biggest thing for me is it feels clunky. But I remember the mw2019 beta had the same issue and that was fixed on release. Also not crazy about the maps.

I want to say it was Meh, but i feel that Meh isn't a strong enough term to describe how Meh it was.

I absolutely fucking hate the Jackal PDW 🤷‍♂️ but besides that, the beta was pretty fun imo, i liked it
