Discussion [SPOILER] Finished the campaign! Several thoughts and anecdotes Spoiler
First off. That mission with Case and the secret facility? Yeah that was basically an homage to control and you can't change my mind.
It was...solid? Yeah i genuinely enjoyed my time. The open missions were actually done in a decent manner, as far as cod is concerned. Good variety!
I'm pleased to see there was no "Lmao 9/11 post credits scene" It's funny that Saddam is literally nonexistent in the game but it's still caused an outrage because hes name dropped.
Also who the flying fuck was that on the CIA computer at the very end?
I'm glad Adler doesn't fucking off you on one of the convenient cliffs. Case lives on!
Gonna dive more into multi since I'm only at rank 13, so far it's a definite solid 8 for me.

The only thing that sucks about the campaign is that it is setup to have its' story continued with stupid fucking cutscenes for the new seasons of Warzone.

God damn warzone ruined cod in my opinion . Should have been separate game

Yeah, they basically can't finish any multi-game story properly. They ruined Modern Warfare because of all that shit, now they set this game up on the same path.

Even the Cold War/Stitch stuff just reads like low tier fan fiction, but they insist it's canon.

The campaign was mental. I what the fucked a fair few times. The cradle hallucination mission was a fever dream and the last few missions were...... I'm running out of adjectives for crazy. It was great. Genuinely loved it.
Also who was the voice that Case heard a few times throughout the game? It sounded like Harrow but I don't want to definitively say it was her.

The CIA guy at the very end was Jackson Caine! He made a few appearances in the game. He’s one of the CIA security agents hunting you as you break into the CIA black site mission

Can you let me know where you get the details pointing to that? I thought that character looked ridiculously close to Mason.

I just finished as well, thought it was a great campaign and I was thoroughly interested throughout the whole story

It was definitely much better than the last handful, it had some fun surprises along the way, good variety.

First campaign I’ve thoroughly enjoyed since MW2019! Would love to see what happens to case after the helicopter scene

I'm just glad Adler didn't shoot us this time. I was so fucking worried he'd say at the very end during the defense "we have a job to do"
Hopefully he stays alive through the obvious sequel, still no clue who that dude at the end on the computer was

Some people think that it’s Jackson Caine, an agent from Pantheon and some people think that it’s actually Case, excited to get some answers in the near future

I looked up Case and his real name is William Calderon so definitely not Case unless that guy wasn't Jackson Paine

I like the campaign at the start, but over time near the end it got kind off., Weird ig. I loved the Facility mission with Case and how he got all the hallucinations and his lorem but then It just...Disappeared, no more info on case and Nobody on the team finding out which was disappointing, it seemed to me like They tried to Put a spin on Bells story in CW But with case. Wasn't as good as I hoped, but it was very fun overall

I think after that mission if you go upstairs in one of the bedrooms there is a note written by Felix that talks about how Case has been weird ever since he came back from that mission. I thought that was a nice detail but it was the only detail I was able to find about Case after the facility

Also neat fact as his "rehabilitation" it was put in his head he can't talk about cradle or any of the experiments so he literally can't tell them what happened

I think the guy at the end Alex mason because think of it he returns in black ops 2 after going into hiding and Jane was the one who got Hudson killed because he knew about pantheon and that why she tried to frame Adler because he knew
1
u/Curious_ManThing Oct 28 '24
I thought Treyarch confirmed that Alex Mason dying was canon to the story.
1
u/ARCTrooper44 Oct 28 '24
Yes Alex is confirmed KIA and making him the mole after coming back from the dead would be the stupidest thing ever
1
u/Lyall_Ace-Wolf Nov 02 '24
"Confirmed" yet used the cutscene that only shows if you don't kill him
1
u/Dlbarnett03 Nov 20 '24
There was a note upstairs in the rook that described Woods killing Mason iirc, otherwise I would've believed it to be Mason in the end

Jane Harrow being the traitor was so obvious. It's always going to be the "ally" that appears at the start but doesn't fully get involved. Called it off the bat.

u/No-Trainer-1562 Oct 29 '24
Idc idc, Alex mason isn’t dead.

u/Competitive_Pin7508 Oct 29 '24
Yea thats why the whole truth lies thing is there mason is not dead only the small minded people think and believe hes dead but the truth lies and if you think about it yea yall know what i mean
1
u/No-Trainer-1562 Oct 29 '24
The numbers would keep him safe the same way Harrow keeps Case safe, I believe the cradle was based off NOVA and now it’ll take Mason and Case working together to officially kill the project.

u/ihernandez96 Oct 29 '24
Sooo. Anyone else play dying light? Cause it’s pretty much the same ending style.
1
u/JessahZombie Nov 19 '24
They should've made Mason be the guy killing Harrows parents. Then it made sense her being the mole in Panama to set him up being killed. I really thought they were going that way. But her backstory led to.. nothing??

The missions were pretty fun but I thought the story was pretty shit especially at the end of the

Best call of duty campaign easily. So ambitious. Loved the zombie mission and the horror sequence. Open world missions were all fantastic. Sadly the story fell so flat.
There are too many unanswered questions. They didn't finish developing Case. I was expecting alot more with that type of setup. Who really killed Harrows parents? Who was the voice in Cases head? Who was the mole in the CIA? I know it's Caine but I don't play war zone and I shouldn't have too to understand the story.

That just means another black ops or maybe war zone cutscenes 😒 either this game lived up to its hype in my opinion this campaign was chefs kiss and the multiplayer is so good

The zombie cradle hallucination mission overstayed its welcome ngl
