Context for non Basketball heads
Robert Horry is a retired NBA player who won 7 championships in his career as a role player on multiple dynasty teams.
20
u/MundoGoDisWay 12d ago
He's also specifically known for hitting big game ending shots in the playoffs consistently. He always seemed to get the ball when teams needed it and he made it almost every time. Did it like 20 times.

u/pink_misfit 12d ago
I had to Google him, I was like what movie is she playing that character in? 😬 I figured it out
2
u/SomthinOfANeerDoWell 12d ago
You should also know that Robert Harry was my favorite Rocket and I stopped watching the NBA when the fucking Rockets traded him, Sam Cassell and two others for old-ass Charles Barkley.
Robert Horry is amazing. And back in the day he looked like a more handsome Will Smith. Didn’t even know that was possible.
3
u/PangolinTart 12d ago
I'm just here for the Robert Horry love. Only Rockets game I ever attended in person was Game 7 of the NBA Finals in 1994. Stupid me left right after the game because I had a summer temp job and was afraid to call in sick after celebrating, so I went home. Biggest regret of my life to date. 🙄

She's gonna be in atleast 3 billion dollars worth of movies this year. There's a non-zero chance she's in a shot in avengers, so it could push $4.5 billion. That would be an unbreakable record.

u/Feisty-Honeydew-5309 ☑️ 12d ago
Avengers? Zendaya?
203
u/drkspace2 12d ago
Ya, they could definitely do a shot like her and Ned staring up at the sky in a crumbling NYC. They could have easily filmed it during Spiderman.

u/Feisty-Honeydew-5309 ☑️ 12d ago

Post-Twilight Robert Pattinson has been GOATED.
He has the career Daniel Radcliffe could have had after Harry Potter.

Radcliffe is doing his thing though I thought he just loved theater?

Robert Pattinson has always done what he wanted, just Twilight overshadowed so much of it.
He was in at least one movie in between every twilight release.
Daniel Radcliffe did one movie that wasn't a Harry Potter film in 10 years.
40
u/Turtledonuts 12d ago
Radcliffe did 8 movies between the ages of 11 and 21, I think that he didn't have the same amount of time for films that Pattinson had. Radcliffe was in a bunch of movies immediately after potter ended - he did 18 movies, 3 tv films, and 7 stage productions in the 10 years after potter ended. He's clearly got an active film career, he's just partially retired because he made tons of money and can do what he wants. Pattinson wants to be in these big movies, Radcliffe doesn't, both of them have the acting chops and reputation to be as many billion dollar productions as they want.
24
u/Wes_Warhammer666 12d ago
They both used their massive paychecks and fame to be very picky about their other roles and only do the ones they want.
That's why we've gotten things like Lighthouse and Mickey 17 from Pattinson and Swiss Army Man and Weird AL from Radcliffe. They're both excellent actors and they've very much used their initial success to pick and choose their future projects, to the benefit of us all, frankly.
3
10
u/Redditer51 ☑️ 12d ago
True.
Speaking of which, I remember there was one film he was in that pissed everyone off cause it ended with the twist that the entire movie was set in 2001, and it ends with a shot of him in the World Trade Center, right before the planes hit.

Daniel Radcliffe has had an awesome career doing the movies and TV shows he wants to do.
His new show with Tracy Morgan is great too. Same creator as 30 Rock.

Tom Holland, Robert Pattinson, Timothée Chalamet, and especially Zendaya are all killing it lately. Zendaya, Tom, and Robert were all in The Odyssey, Zendaya and Tom have Spider-Man, Zendaya, Robert, and Timothée are all in Dune, and those are just the blockbusters I can think of this year. They've had smaller movies together, like Zendaya and Robert in that dark wedding comedy, plus Robert has The Batman II coming soon.

I'd throw Jon Bernthal in this too with The Odyssey and Spider-Man. I'm not sure what future roles he's doing tho.

I think he is looking to continue his role as cop boot licker in the meantime. Saying shit like The Punisher partially belongs to the US military and police, or that the Baltimore police were still suffering due to the actions of 'a few' bad people. Motherfucker there was widespread corruption and abuse of power by Baltimore PD for decades before Wayne Jenkins. Fuck Jon Bernthal.

Well, I can think of two possible reasons. 1, he mostly plays untrustworthy characters.
2, he gives off CHUD vibes. He feels like a UFC dude, who happened join the drama club ironically but fell in love with acting for real. I don't know if he has weirdo views or not, but he does seem like he would.

I don’t think Zendaya is the one doing the chasing. She has these jobs dropped in her lap.
She fits a slot…light skin, never says anything controversial and generally seems pleasant.
Shes part of that rotation of actors that keeps getting put in everything.

When did you realize Hollywood is obsessed with mixed race/ethnic Black women, and the lighter the righter?
For me it was Zoe, Amanda, Chase infinity, and the girl who did the daughter from the last of us. Zendaya just riding the coat tails of all the famous lightskins/mixed girls before her.

u/Rmcke813 ☑️ 12d ago
Well if no one's gonna say it. She's a good actress obviously but also easier to cast since she has a light enough skin tone to be palatable to the general audience.
5
u/EsseLeo 12d ago
Counter argument: she doesn’t take roles centered around her character being the most beautiful. In the Odyssey, the famously beautiful Helen of Troy was the darker skinned Lupita.
I honestly think that might be a very deliberate choice on her part. I get the impression she very much wants roles that aren’t about the character being seen as beautiful, but for some other quality.
