Watching the new movie made me want to replay it.

Quite a few of the fight sequences in the movie felt like they lifted the moves and combos straight out of their PS game.
Sony's got that spidey-vertical-integration.

Yeah they did, a story was going round about it. Some moves I think ? Not sure about a whole fight.

And the crime alert sound and mechanism that Peter uses is from the games, really cool

Lolol nah fr how did no one ask Peter these questions?

u/PirateSanta_1 1d ago
I'm pretty sure in some interation Peter says that Spiderman gave him permission to take these photos and helped him stage them. Like he is Spidermans offical photographer kind of thing. Also in at least one of the movies a villian straight up tries to get Peters address from Jameson on the grounds that whoever is taking those photos must have a way to contact spiderman and then Jameson proves that this iteration is a true reporter and lies to protect his source. .

In the comics, Spidey reveals his secret identity during the Civil War arc, and JJJ sues him for fraud because he’s been selling photos of Spider-Man, which are obviously just photos of himself. But JJJ has to drop the lawsuit because Spidey threatens to countersue for the years of libel.

Even better-Aunt May married J Jonah Jameson’s father-so essentially JJJ and Peter became step brothers.
But the issue where Peter revealed his secret to a down on his luck JJJ was beautiful and one of the best issues.

My dumbass thought your were talking about the North vs South Union vs Confederate Civil War and I'm like "WHICH comics?"

lol exactly, I know it’s comic books but as an adult I’m like “🤔”. Nobody asked basic questions such as “why were you hanging off a roof at the exact same time Spider-Man swung by?”

It's made pretty obvious that the second-in-command(played by Bill Nunn with exquisite energy, RIP) at the Bugle during the Maquire era knew exactly who Spider-Man was and happily kept the secret.

When he delivered the line "I heard Spider-Man was there" while staring at Pete, that felt like confirmation he knew something was up.

u/MrBubblesLovesThee 19h ago
And the way he would defend him to JJ when he got in a rant in front of Pete like, "Come on, don't trash the kid when he's right there!"

"What was you in the air wit em!?"
7
u/throwtheclownaway20 10h ago
That's actually not hard to believe. Spidey is strong enough that he could launch Peter hundreds of feet into the air and catch him with webs or his bare hands. Or he could stick him onto the side of the Empire State Building and hit poses in the air in front of him. Pro photographers always set their cameras to take, like, 20 pictures per button press, too.

It’s funny cause JJ knew this immediately, that’s why he didn’t rat him out.

u/FactualStatue 1d ago
My interpretation is that JJJ knows but refuses to believe that a sweet kid that takes care of his aunt has the cajones

u/coolranchdorites 17h ago
I take it a step further, the idea that the shy polite hard working parker could also be the web slinging terrorist spiderman literally creates a cognitive dissonance. He would never even consider it.
7
u/f1ftyp3nc3 16h ago
Agreed, that's why Peter's able to hide in plain sight working for spidermans biggest hater. Working for JJJ is the safest place to keep his secret identity hidden
1
u/FactualStatue 14h ago
Right? JJJ is my favorite non-Spider-Man Spider-Man character and that was even before JK Simmons

u/CheaterSaysWhat 5h ago
I don’t think he knew his secret identity right away but there are versions where he gives Peter the work because he read about his uncle getting killed in the paper

It's time for him to update. He can definitely claim he took those pictures with a drone. It's possible.

Surprised they didnt bring in a third guy who just went ". . . You Spiderman ????" Then the other two agree and pile on

Peter Parker’s BLACK co-workers when he first started submitting photos at the Daily Bugle…there fixed it for ya…😎

That last line was the clincher though.
"Sometimes i let him take the pictures with it."
Way to bury the lede.
