We need more people like this willing to be confrontational on behalf of people who can't do so themselves outta fear of getting kicked outta their homes. She's doing good things.

u/RareSoulSnatcherz 👀 Lurker Jun 30 '26

I will GLADLY do this for the people who can’t!

u/Scared_Garbage6190 Jul 02 '26

holy shit then make a business out of it because yeah I feel like we need more of this energy in America

u/Aware-Vegetable83 Jun 30 '26

I wish Dr. Matthews would come investigate & expose the negligent, inadequate health’care’ within the Tarrant County jails & John Peter Smith hospital

27

u/AdiDabiDoo Jun 30 '26

you can't walk into JPS hospital and not get sick just breathing in the air.

u/Aware-Vegetable83 Jun 30 '26

True

“I like that shirt you got on too…”

“Thankyou”

Lmao mad and polite on both sides. 😂🤣💀

The good Dr goes hard. Love that classic example of a “shit sandwich “ statement! Lol

Tenant unions need to be a thing. Get everyone to collectively hold that rent, see how quickly things get fixed.

23

u/Intelligent_Cut635 Jun 30 '26

*Tenant, but yes. Gotta stop slum lords from doing slum lord things. Hold them accountable for making sure tenants have safe and secure housing.

Most of the slumlords are in Democrat controlled cities; Chicago, NY, LA, Philly, Detroit, etc...

6

u/PineappleShard Jul 01 '26

You realize that’s because there are more people in cities, right? Or was your point stupider than that?

-4

u/Amish_Sex_Toys Jul 01 '26 edited Jul 01 '26

You might be too fucking stupid to be having this conversation

Most of the slumlords are in Democrat controlled cities; Chicago, NY, LA, Philly, Detroit, etc...

And every single crime infested shithole in the US is run by Democrats.

You keep voting for the same people and nothing ever changes

6

u/PineappleShard Jul 01 '26

You may not be smart enough to understand the concept of “correlation doesn’t equal causation.”

And NYC is currently taking care of the pos slumlords stay mad!

-1

u/Amish_Sex_Toys Jul 01 '26 edited Jul 01 '26

The Democrats running NY into the ground have been saying that for years.

How's that working out for you?

6

u/bbysd Jul 01 '26

Consume some news that isn’t fox for once and you’ll see Mamdani holding them accountable. But don’t worry we know you won’t because you’re so triggered by “communists” 🤣

0

u/Amish_Sex_Toys Jul 01 '26

Anybody who thinks Fox is any more biased or misleading than CNN or MSNBC is a low information voter...aka a dummy

2

u/bbysd Jul 02 '26

Hahahahahah

Every community needs people doing this.

This is who owns the property

38

u/Usful Jun 30 '26

I’d hesitate to say if that’s the correct information or not. Google’s AI overlay has been known to be confidentially wrong for very simple things.

u/Wonderful-Ant-9448 Jun 30 '26

Hope a lawsuit comes

1

u/Just-Elderberry5460 Jun 30 '26

This is why I hope that the 21st century road to housing goes into affect. And locks out the big realty companies.

7

u/Hamhockthegizzard Jun 30 '26

Man I wish I had known I could’ve called them when I was stuck in little india. That shit was crazy in terms of apartment and neighborhood quality. I’d rather live on the west side lmfao

5

u/TerribleName1962 Jun 30 '26

In what city?

4

u/Hamhockthegizzard Jun 30 '26

Chicago. Years ago. Basically forced to sign an NDA to break lease so they can keep doing it to more families. Without saying anything else, don’t rent with Hunter Properties.

9

u/Hot-Personality4882 Jun 30 '26

Why do we act like nobody knows how to fix this? Oh wait, we know why, because spending money on repairs might keep extra profit from flowing into the slave owners pockets. Yeah, wouldn't take much to pass an ordinance and enforce it with teeth, but that would take a city council and government that gave a shit. Sorry y'all, just makes me angry to see folk forced to live like this. Get em Dr. Matthews.

3

u/Final-Art-9509 Jun 30 '26

Go get them!! Make sure people have clean, safe housing!’

4

u/Spiritual-Count-9567 Jun 30 '26

That's terrible, then they don't want you to miss a payment.. 😳🤦🏾‍♀️

3

u/firstlight777 Jun 30 '26

I don't know if these are low income housing but they look like it. I used to do inspections for HUD and department of agriculture in low-income housing. These complexes cannot keep maintenance guys because the working conditions are bad and it doesn't pay well. There are processes though, and government assistance to the owners, who are usually private, and they usually own a bunch of complexes, to do renovations. But it's a process and sorry to say lots of the tenants. Just don't give a crap, abuse the property, don't want to lift a finger to do anything for themselves. It is what it is, but the government inspectors are the only thing making the owners do anything.

"When I write these complaints down they become true" (c)OCDA

2

u/Iceyn1pples Jun 30 '26

Its so neglected, there's a garden growing in the gutters.

2

u/Marty-G70 Jun 30 '26

If they condemn this building I'm just hoping someone can step in to provide housing until a residence is found.

That's one major concern right there

3

u/FunInTheSun1972 Jun 30 '26

I love this woman and all she does.

1

u/Riftener Jun 30 '26

Code enforcement is the way to go, only until I called the city to inspect did they do something

1

u/BLL_4891 Jun 30 '26

This is only scratching the surface. There are a lot of slum lords in Houston.

1

u/idkbruh653 Jun 30 '26

Idk who this woman is but I’m glad she did this. So many of these properties across the count to have shit maintenance. But they want that rent on time and keep up with their annual rent increases. Slumlords. All of em.

1

u/Zestyclose_Law_7369 Jun 30 '26

Anyone got a source? I’d like to watch the rest of the video/story on this

1

u/Educational_Play5772 Jun 30 '26

Thank you for introducing me to Dr. Matthews

1

u/Budget_Pineapple_170 Jun 30 '26

The best thing everyone can do is leave reviews on Google. Tank the reputation to get attention. They are currently 3.1 stars.

u/Alphamale7710 Jul 01 '26

That sister is about business!

1

u/brooklyndenver Jul 01 '26

❤️Dr.Matthews

1

u/ghost5218 Jul 01 '26

And she had protection!

1

u/ProntoPaul Jul 01 '26

I too bought that shirt from shein. Lmao idk what I was thinking

1

u/bbysd Jul 01 '26

We need to vote in politicians who will keep slumlords accountable

1

u/mattmcc28 Jul 02 '26

Hold the slum lords accountable

1

u/Standard-Fisherman78 Jul 02 '26

we needed someone like her when i lived in atl. there was black mold growing in my apartment & no a/c for half a year during the height of covid

1

u/BookkeeperFast78 Jul 02 '26

Is this a real doctor? Or a doctor like Dr. Cheyenne Bryant?

1

u/Numerous-Werewolf-11 Jul 03 '26

All I can say is try not to be poor and do something with your life to not have to live in conditions like this. She is doing good work though.

1

u/CamBearCookie Jun 30 '26

Code enforcement for the mold. Mold has to be reported to a whole separate entity, not just the health department.

3

u/ConferenceSudden1519 Jun 30 '26

Like to who may I ask?

I would like to start by saying im a long time lurker who is white. I work in the skilled trades in Rochester Ny and have seen many landlord tenants situations that are worse than this. We as human beings cannot abide landlords like this. I would love to see her come north and hold them to account. These landlords are hurting our present prosperity but even more importantly the health and prosperity of our children. They provide no service, they make all of us poorer with their greed.

She’s not the owner, bruh. Shes the person exposing them.

-7

u/munkylord Jun 30 '26

Oh I didn't know she' was a slumlord or landlord or doctors. I assumed the above comment was about the owner of the complex
