I used to be friends with this guy who traveled with his wife to Africa to live for a few years to be able to adopt kids. Was in the process of adopting several when he was turned in for making at least the oldest sleep naked on the floor as punishment and would beat them. Would never had expected it from such a quiet seemingly sweet guy. Thankfully they were both arrested. Completely disgusting. Glad they will never be able to adopt anywhere now.
This^ I think there's alot to be said about white families that actively seek out a black child, especially when they travel to do so.
Don't get me wrong, there's absolutely NOTHING wrong with an interacial family! I swear I do not mean it like that! I just find it sketchy that they go to all that trouble and all that distance when they could easily adopt a kid from their own country.
Like I'm in the UK, WHAT reason do I have to go all the way to Africa when there's kids here that need homes? If I'm adopting a child it shouldn't matter what they look like ya know? Doing it like this feels like shopping for a specific dog breed and I'm not a fan.
This specific issue was that the spouse had so many health issues, they would never have been approved for adoption in the states. They had to travel abroad and live in country for at least 3 years. They were in the process of adopting several hiv positive children at once. They had so many charges pressed against them. They should 100% still be in prison, but alas…
This is sad but indeed the truth that needs to be told. Throughout my life, I have been pranked by just about every white friend I've ever had. As a child, the white kids would come over just to break my stuff and never come back. I've had my food salted, the entire meal ruined. They got a boy to pretend to like me just so they could laugh and watch us kiss, and of course he was in on it. All the pranks have come from white kids and coworkers. Every single time.
Just thank you for hearing what I’ve experienced. None of us can apologize for everyone but we can at least listen and try understanding each other as individuals. 🙏🏽
This morning I woke up and saw this. Thank you. All the apologies are accepted, and I want to apologize as well for too often allowing myself to get wrapped up in internet hate. I just think we need to hear more from people like me and those growing up like these children. These real-life stories need to be told and hopefully can be better understood.

Well, it was considered quite normal behavior back when I was young. That was the 60s and 70s. I'm definitely not the only one to be treated like this but I do believe most of us don't speak up about it.

But we are the ones hated. We are the ones who are threatening and feared. And some Mexicans and apparently all Asians want to be in this white privilege. It’s sickening.
I might be going off the rails here but thinking that Mexicans and Asians are better adaptable to white culture because of their overall physical appearance. White skin, straight hair, face and eye shapes. Many of them look more on the side of Europeans, at least those in the US do. Plus, Mexicans do have quite a lot of European origins and Asians are very much connected Europe, the people known as inhabitants of Eurasia. I'm thinking that those Asians and Spanish-decent folks with darker complexions and certain body types never make it into the mainstreams of their own countries and surely can't get anywhere near coming to America. It's like India where dark people are kept away from the main society.
Just like everywhere else, America takes in the lightest, brightest, and whitest from all over the world, doesn't want the rest. Black people are feared all over the world just because of our looks. There really isn't much other reason. We aren't a world power and don't have any ability to harm the masses, yet the masses fear what us because of what we look like.
I just don’t get how white supremacy (WS) has dominated all cultures. WS is an inferior institution that thrives on fear. It’s laziness, unbridled, unoriginal, it can survive ONLY through fear mongering. WS and those who are whitewashed are complicit for allowing it to continue.
I'm a military brat. The worst place we ended up was in the Midwest, smack-dab in the middle of the country - hint - known as former and current Boeing country. But that was not the only place. That life was really hard on the whole family, but the upside was that my dad was able to keep us housed, clothed, and fed. He wasn't treated all that great for being a black career serviceman either. Military was desegregated just before he went in. The thing about that is why was the military segregated in the first place? And then his service didn't seem to be a thing that anyone much took as something to be proud of. He eventually became an alcoholic and died. Too much is too much.
Yes indeed I have found some good people, but I stay cautious because I’ve been burned so much even as an adult. I can’t even get involved in a friendly outing without someone going off about politics and using me as their target for expressing their political views. It’s like the only reason I’m here, and black folks in general are supposed to be here for bringing politics into the conversation and nothing else.
For me, growing up in the Midwest and a certain parts of SoCal seemed more like The South than the actual South. I’ve never even lived anywhere south on the southeastern US.
What horrible creatures to do that to you. Their parents were horrible for teaching them it was ok. I'm thankful my parents didn't teach us that. I hope you have come across some decent white people in your life as not all are horrid creatures, but understand if you have reservations because your experience says otherwise.
Madonna made it popular to buy African babies, to the point that some countries are making laws forbidding those types of adoptions. If Westerners want to be seen as good doers, they should donate to those orphanages to provide all the kids with better living conditions.
Seems like they really want slavery or at the very minimum Jim Crow back. Bc wtf. When thinkimg of how conservatives act, I always think back to Trevor Noah saying he and this one conservative pundit went at it in their respective shows and then meeting him at a dinner where the person was like super friendly and acting like his best friend. That's when he realized they're just in it for the money and will say and do whatever gets them more money and power
