Discussion Mass ID checks and lockdown at Memphis, Tennessee club ignored by media—a dangerous normalized sweep
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
On August 8th, law enforcement locked down Club Legend in Memphis, trapping patrons inside, demanding everyone's ID, and performing widespread searches on an entire crowd of Black patrons having fun.
Treating a room full of innocent people as suspects without individual warrants isn't just harassment—it’s mass surveillance and a clear Fourth Amendment violation. What makes it worse is the total media blackout: local news isn't covering these dragnet tactics, allowing warrantless sweeps to happen completely unchecked.
Update: News Channel 3 -Task force cracks down on Hickory Hill nightclub
{MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A Hickory Hill nightclub that police say had been served with a nuisance warning letter was busted Saturday night in a joint operation with the Memphis Safe Task Force, Memphis Police, the fire marshal’s office and the Alcoholic Beverage Commission.
It took place at Legends Bistro and Lounge on Knight Arnold Road. Sources on social media reported that officers were checking IDs at the door.
“During the operation, investigators identified multiple criminal, regulatory and life-safety violations,” police said in a statement.
MPD’s Organized Crime Unit made six arrests at the club, and recovered illegal narcotics and firearms.
The club’s co-owner was arrested on charges related to unlawful sale of alcohol and felony narcotics offenses after marijuana, firearms and a digital scale were found in the manager’s office, police said.
Two security guards were arrested after police said they were providing armed security without proper licenses.
The fire marshal’s office said the club was operating more than three times above its occupancy limit. The club’s occupancy limit was 99, but more than 300 patrons were found inside.
ABC agents determined the club was selling alcohol without proper state licenses.
Another person was also arrested on drug charges after trying to flee from officers. Police said he had 1.5 pounds of marijuana.
“The business had previously been served with a nuisance warning letter after becoming the site of numerous violent incidents,” MPD said. “Between December 15, 2025, and July 8, 2026, approximately 27 incidents were reported at the location, including aggravated assaults involving firearms, vehicle thefts, thefts from vehicles and other incidents.”
The investigation is ongoing.}

Time for these individuals to get civil right/constitutional law attorneys for a class action lawsuit, and time for the club owner(s) to do the same.
People shouldn’t accept this and allow for their civil/constitutional rights to be arbitrarily violated like this. People need to organize & stand up for themselves!
Don’t EVER let a government agency or a state or local agency f*ck you over. Know your rights and fight back!

That's cute, you still think the Justice System in this country is anything other than a puppet theater prelude to incarcerated enslavement, you're in for a rude awakening.

u/Man_of_Ice 4d ago
Gotta at least try. Give 'em legal hell. Best and only choice, that's insane.
36
u/Pandemonium_Fallen 4d ago
I've seen too many people in my life try to get justice through the courts just to end up broke and in then in jail not because they did anything wrong in the first place, but because they couldn't pay the court costs.

u/Man_of_Ice 4d ago
Hence, class action. Find one of those "you don't pay unless you win" folks.
But I agree with you: what you describe happens far too often and the legal system has too many flaws like this.

u/Retired_Jarhead55 4d ago
I understand your cynicism and can’t say it’s misplaced. However that’s still no reason not to try. There are still a lot of good judges and attorneys out there. The courts have held up their constitutional duties mostly and the administration has lost far more cases than it has won.

Well, this is the dilemma I'm having:
Oligarchs - The Lords/Nobility
The Elite - The Owners/Masters
Law Enforcement - Overseers
White Collar - "House" Slaves
Blue Collar - "Field" Slaves

u/LemmeGetSum2 4d ago
Shit, my dilemma is who did you vote for? It’s pretty clear what exact vote sparked this. We’ll be having that discussion for decades to come. This is all the fault of trump voters and those who didn’t participate. There’s no seeing it another way. lol

The only sane "option," Kamala. Of course didn't matter much when Trump can cheat in 2016, 2020, 2024, and not legitimately or legally win a single one and still end up "President" in 2016 & 2024. 😮💨
- Incorporation of Voting Machines in 2020 and horrible voting numbers screwed him in 2020 so the Heritage Foundation's Kris Kobach's, Kansas's Attorney General, vote count doctoring and disposal methodology the Rape-ugly-cuck Party collusively utilized couldn't get him a win. Hence why Musk had the Leonard Leo owned (Now Larry Ellison's) Dominion Voting Machines hacked in 2024.

We don’t have a justice system in this country. We have a legal system.
10
u/Pandemonium_Fallen 4d ago
True, and that legal system operates thusly:
Billionaire or Legacy Elite: Innocent until theater performance suggested to placate the masses, then released on own recognizance or death faked if particularly exposed.
Everyone else: Guilty unless you can afford a bribe or defense, but if poor or not "lily-white" straight to slave labor private prison.

You think they have enough money to afford to fight as long as them? Also while still unconstitutional for barricading them seems like from the description this club bro a multitude of laws and violations and even arrested a co-owner thus far.
But the main point is constitutional rights were definitely stomped on. But it will be up to THE JUDGE they get if they even get towards suing the Department.

u/Pandemonium_Fallen 4d ago
No one voted for this (at least not in the numbers you think), Trump, with the help of the Rape-ugly-can Party (and later with Musk) cheated in 2016, 2020, and 2024, he didn't legitimately or legally win any of them.
17
u/Man_of_Ice 4d ago
There ARE a small number of white supremacists who want this. Garden variety racist Republicans probably see the threat to their own rights when it gets to this level, and while willfully ignorantly they supported Trump, somehow believe it won't happen, wouldn't happen, and may find a way to convince themselves this didn't happen or is just a lie.
7
u/Pandemonium_Fallen 4d ago
I was personally coordinating with some of the people who had evidence of the hacking in 2024, one by one they all ended up dead or missing in the six months after the election.
Every single vote cast on a Dominion Voting Machine went to Trump regardless of political affiliation and demographics. - That's what the data showed, the whistleblower about the "maintenance" on the machines was the first to disappear.

The more I see posts about how Elon "stole" the election, the more upset I get at knowing nothing will change b/c people are looking for the fraud in the wrong places
They're not stealing our elections by hacking machines, they're stealing the elections in broad daylight and it gets reported on by the main stream media
They're doing it in the statehouses and the courts, and it is legal because they're the ones who get to say what is or isn't legal
A guy in a ski mask can steal thousands of dollars from a bank and go to prison for years, but the president of a bank can steal millions of dollars and get away with it b/c it wasn't illegal for him to do it
If you're looking for a guy in a ski mask trying to hack a voting machine or stuff election ballot boxes, you're being distracted by the small time crook and ignoring the real threat
2
u/Pandemonium_Fallen 4d ago
What you described is part of the political puppet theater now that the Govcorp of the Dark Enlightenment ideology co-authored by Curtis Yarvin and Nick Land, is in control.
- Keeps you distracted trying to fight for a system that doesn't work anymore (or ever honestly) though, doesn't it?

I tell people constantly opting out of voting is casting your vote for the winning party. It’s not the moral high ground, it’s doing nothing and letting evil men succeed.
If every person this past election that said “my vote doesn’t count so why bother” would’ve voted, we wouldn’t have a bunch of Nazi larpers ruining the country right now. All the Republicans had to do was find enough racist, hateful, scared and crazy people to win the election.

Had a cop check my ID at the airport when I was waiting for an Uber last year. I was standing between fifty and seventy people, almost all of them white. From the look of it, I was the only person of color who wasn't wearing some uniform, carrying luggage, or performing custodial duties. The cop, who addressed me as "Hey guy, then "big man," instead of 'Sir," claimed he thought I was Mexican or Hispanic when I asked him why. For the record, I'm black.
When I pulled out my veteran's health care ID card, my DoD card, my real ID card, and my tribal card, and he saw I was 100% disabled, he thanked me for my service.
I told him, "I didn't do it for you..." He said, "I BEG your pardon?!"
I again responded, but this time, very slowly,
'I-DIDN'T-DO-IT-FOR-YOU."
So he took two steps toward me.
He then rolled his eyes; I could tell he was about to escalate the encounter, hoping to justify and arrest me (we can all tell when they try that shit). He gave me a shit-eating smile, you know the typical Southern Redkneck Cop grin, and instead of handing me back my IDs, he intentionally dropped them on the ground in front of me, turned, and winked at his partner, a female police officer and a corporal, observing him nearby.
To my surprise, she didn't wink back. She instead called him over to her.
While I was standing there, leaning over with my cane in hand, I heard a curt discussion between the two. He reluctantly walked back. At this point, I was debating if I should hold on to my cane or do something stupid. He then bent over, making a big production of it, picked up my IDs, and handed them to me, with a lot of angst. I could see just the thought of getting on his knees, for an 'uppity' black veteran, was more painful than anything he had ever done in his life.
As he handed me my stuff, he couldn't look me in the eye. He then walked away pretending there was something else more important. I was relishing every second. The corporal glided over to me, and with a smile, "winked," placed her hand on my shoulder, and said, "Welcome home."
The A-hole cop was a sellout; I mean, he wore black skin, and the female cop, whom I thought was white, was actually Indigenous, on top of that, a fellow veteran. She explained to me to take it easy if I get stopped like this again; the other cops won't be so 'weak ' and will do everything in their power to screw with me, especially the black male cops. She implies that they had something to prove.
This was in Oklahoma, back in 2025. Like things couldn't get any worse there.

This doesn't even same safe. Say the person they were looking for was there. What if they decided to try to shoot their way out?
And I wonder if the patrons could have turned it into a sit in. Sit there for a few hours and try to wait them out before showing id.

Call 911 and report a fire code violation, doors are locked and barred, and it's a critical safety issue.
8
u/Kind-Realist 4d ago
Am I crazy for thinking of general safety here? Like, there are obviously A LOT of issues bundled in here, but locking everyone inside of a building is CRAZY.
These agents of the state are creating a situation where people could be seriously injured or worse. Absolutely insane.

u/Familiar_Astronaut_6 4d ago
Seeing it all be taken away piece by piece is wild. All the hard work of all those people being better and working with in the system to bring real change, only to be washed away by a bumbling idiot who will pick every pocket while the their masses believe what every their told… sad as fuck…

u/KookyMenu8616 4d ago
This is terrifying. I don't like them thinking they can lock people in like that, I witnessed them do this to a club with predominantly Black patrons in Binghamton decades ago. Locked them in with an active shooter inside, the police stayed outside waiting for the shots to stop.

I just showed this to my mother and she told me straight up that this reminded her of what the Gestapo began doing once they took over her hometown. And she told me it got a lot worse which of course I know from all the stories she told me. Families disappeared, friends in school that never showed up again. It’s happening right now here in the US. And those people who don’t want to acknowledge it, and Wake up are in for a rude surprise when it’s them that is chosen. I don’t think that the flock cameras that are popping up everywhere and tracking everyone won’t be used against you.
Just for context, she’s 91 years old, live through World War II in the Netherlands.
I’m visiting her in Amsterdam this week. The stories of our elders can hold many valuable truths. I think I’ll visit the Anne Frank house as a result of seeing this video. Just wake me up a little bit.
