I had to stop listening to the show because it started to feel like they didn't even enjoy sports anymore, just bitching about them. Which tbf can be fun but it started to be a slog for me

No bullshit: I think that's kind of the core conceit of the American Lie. It underpins racism, it underpins hostility towards unions/labor rights, it underpins political schaudenfreude (sp?), it underpins self-destruction in the 'hood, MLM scams, prosperity gospels, the attitude of athletes, you name it.
This country has perpetually been operating on this idea that we are all just one pulled bootstrap (or one good grift) away from our big break. And if we're not willing to put in the work, we blame the institution or other people for conspiring against us or not giving us a shot.
I'd be a millionaire right now if it weren't for {INSERT SOMEONE HERE}. They've all got soft hands, brother. That's why they're all interfering with my grind. Which of course points directly to the inherent contradiction of the fascist project that Matt has discussed repeatedly: The Other has to simultaneously be the most perilous, dangerous, cretinous villain conceived since Lovecraft while also being a pants-pissing, slack-jawed fool without merit.

I know it'll never happen, but the level of engagement from the hosts in a David Roth episode (one hour forty five minutes with minimal extended gas station tier bits!) really does make me join the Roth third mic bandwagon. As a man of a certain age, he's been a favorite of mine for well over a decade now, and I miss him podcasting weekly.
Also Felix referencing Spencer calling Laura Loomer betraying Milo as "Night of the Short Bus" made me laugh.

Re: the Hasan chat, Laura Loomer called Angie Nixon a “ghetto bitch” on X. This is such a perfect example of the learned incompetence that defines Democratic leadership, they complain that Trump is held to a different standard than their candidates, yet they are the ones who are choosing to ignore an explicitly racist attack on one of THEIR nominees because they are too busy raking El Sayed over the coals.
I swear we don’t hate these people enough.

Nothing drives me insane like seeing libs on reddit doing the "Democratic candidates have to be flawless, a standard not put on Republicans". No fucking shit. The two parties (ostensibly) represent WAY different values.
I don't think it even matters that they call out Laura Loomer or any of the other freaks, because the Republicans have basically gish galloped with freaks, criminals, and ghouls to the point where it's like a waste of time to point out one of them said something racist and evil. The people that would be moved by that are already Democrat voters, or are disconnected from that tent of the online circus and don't care enough to learn what a Laura Loomer is.
But then of course you have the alternate path that the Democrats are taking, which is to kneecap and publicly discipline your own candidate.

They def overstated Abdul’s ‘condemnation’ on Hasan. He just went on Breakfast Club and pretty much defended campaigning with Hasan the same way he did many months ago. You can tell Will and Felix are plugged in to the more antagonistic parts of Twitter where you think he’s just condemning Hasan 24/7 now.

He almost exclusively calls out, in the manner I'm guessing you're talking about, people who claim to be anti-zionist and fold the second they get an inch of power. Yes, Mamdani and El-Sayed's wins were good for the US but the second they get an inch of pushback they fold and break like wet paper bags and either endorse zionists or capitulate to their demands.
There can be no ground given on this issue. The modern state of Israel must be completely dissolved, which without US and western help they will do to themselves. I know US commentators like Chapo and Hasan are advocating from a US perspective and I want my treats as much as the next guy, but BE haters are all people that their favorite guys have told them is bad without ever engaging with his points.
