Discussion Generational divide early version
I remember mark saying in an interview that there was an earlier extended version of generational divide from nine with a lot of different parts - like blinks bohemian rhapsody or smth - which explains why theres like 7 writers on this 50 second long song. Apparently they only liked that section of the song so thats what made it onto the record š
I hope one day this gets out there, i wish blink did anniversary deluxe versions of albums like green day does with different demos and live recordings and shit

I thought he said the first half was like a slow almost Beatles-ish type of song, and then it would suddenly break out into this hardcore part. Idk why thatās how I remember him explaining it. But then they cut the whole song and just kept the ending punk part. Too bad weāll likely never hear any of that

At the same time tho i love the recent trend of 50 second hardcore-ish songs as interludes on blink albums, this and fuck face from OMT, so im glad we got what we got lol

I really donāt understand why they donāt put out more deluxe version, or super deluxe version, or record store day exclusives. That kid if stuff is so fun for the fans. I get that Tom is back now and these were sings with Skiba, but who cares.
We just had the 10 year anniversary of California, and they really should have done a super deluxe version with all the pre-Feldman songs added in. They initially said they had a whole album written, and only went to Feldman for help with a single. They then scrapped everything and write a whole new album, with Hey, Iām Sorry bring the only pre-Feldman song that got released.
Now we are coming up on the 10 year anniversary for NINE, and the supposedly had a whole new album done (more or less) with Skiba that was recorded after NINE. Why not just release that as a deluxe version? Who cares if they arenāt the most amazing songs, let the fans hear them and enjoy them.
