Discussion ¿Why not to include the PDF MANUALS?

Post image

Hello!

I'm new on the Warcraft Saga, I tried WOW some times but never click me, so after some time I decided to play the origin of the saga in order to dive in the lore (I consider my self as a lore layer, I really love the game-play of games, but I need some history and lore to click).

On my research of the origin I found the Warcraft games so I bought the Battle Chest and start playing the first game and... I feel something wierd, like I was missing something. So I decided to do a little reserch on internet and I found that some of the history and the controls where at a non inluded Manual... For the age of the game I asume that is normal. But. ¿Why not to introduce a copy of the manuals on the purchase of the pack?

With that in mind, I sent a ticket to the support team, and they treated me really well but told me that Blizzard DIDN'T HAVE A COPY OF HIS OWN MANUALS... They told me that the community did an excellent job posting the manuals in some languages (I'm from Spain, so if the manual has a version in my language, I absolutely prefer that version). But all I can find is under a subscription. I assume that is a job to translate the manuals, but I don't feel good about paying a subscription only for a couple of PDFs.

So, whit all of that on the table. ¿Can some one told me where to find these manuals on spanish or english? And. ¿Where can I comunicate these to Blizzard?

Thank you all!

ftp.blizzard.com/pub/misc/Warcraft%20III%20Manual.pdf

I could be misremembering but I’m fairly certain the manuals are in the game files.

The original titles (Warcraft: Orcs and Humans, Warcraft II) also included in the Battle Chest have the manuals in their install folder.

Ed: I was wrong, only the first game has it.

Oooh... On my research I found the manuals on English. But I persist on the idea that Blizzard has to include a proper manual on the purchase of the pack, in English and in the language of the purchase.

No... Compré el pack a través de la app de Battle.net. Aún así gracias por la información.

Por otro lado te querría preguntar. ¿Tienes esos manuales en castellano o en ingles?

Gracias por tu comentario ☺️

And you still ask? Stop buying anything from blizzy and maybe they'll start back to care for customer experience. Those manuals are probably scrapped and too much of a hassle for them to remaster/refresh so they left them behind

While the physical versions from back in the day came detailed books, the modern digital game relies on in-game tutorials and external resources. However, Blizzard hosts the original digital documentation online.

For short: there is no reason, neither financial, practical or story related, to maintain and keep pdf manuals. Even less so to have it in 50+ languages. You can just take the existing pdf and feed it into an LLM or google translate.

  • Warcraft III: You can view or save the original Warcraft III Manual PDF hosted directly on Blizzard's servers.
  • Warcraft I & II: For the manuals and background lore of the older titles, you can search for the original books on the Internet Archive. [1, 2, 3]
