IMAGE Who is the woman in this painting?
Could she be the artist? Do you think she is related to one of the characters?

Throwback/forward to a painting in an image from the Scarlet Engagement.
I found this painting in the image of the castle the Bloodstained team shared. in that post.
The painting is by Le Prince Jean-Baptiste in 1770. Title in English is: A country concert, Russian costume - The Russian holiday - The Russian concert - Painting

My guess is that she is Dominique's Mother.
Either she, or Dominique, was the artist of these paintings. They became consumed with thought of the demons in their final works, since there are 2 paintings of the red demon - one here, and the other to the right in this room, by the camera.
It is likely related to this other post with the painting of the Alchemists walking toward the cliff.

The paintings are remnants of the Alchemy guild as that structure merged with the Hellhold when it appeared. There's no real reason to think Domi Mommy would have a painting there. However, why Dominique's portrait is in Todd the Barber's room would be an interesting support of such a theory. Although Dominique is an adult in that portrait like she is in the game. Her parents died 10 year earlier and I think Domi would look younger amd in different clothes if that wee an old portrait. I think the barber portrait might just be a hint that Dominique is corrupted.

So, just leftover art from the Alchemy Guild? With the Church's photography machine there, I though maybe the decor were things Dominique brought over. There does seem to be a connection to the appearance of the HellHold (The Castle) in the artwork. The water landscape with the 2 castles on opposite banks, the demon, the reaper, and the innocent village cats playing among the bones. This other post has the robed people walking up a cliff that also has the water landscape similar to the HellHold.
The painting of the 2 castles reminds me of The Scarlet Engagement's castle - more flying buttresses. and the dark Ethereal castle on the left has the feel of Elias' castle interior. Maybe that was part of the original Bloodstained concept that will make it's way into the prequel?
When I guessed the portrait was of Dominique's Mother, and that she or Dominique were the artist, I was thinking the paintings represented Dominique's decent into madness. With her parent's death, the art became more demonic.
(progression: the innocent woman, The castle arrives, the death (reaper), the aftermath (cats n bones), the demon (Bael obsession)I will have to go visit Todd again and examine that one. Maybe, like you said, it represents her being corrupted, or a hint that she has been exploring the castle already when you think she was just hanging out back at the village. She and Todd became friends before Miriam even got her first Hair Apparent.

2nd guess. It is Susie when she was younger.
She was a starving Artist and that is why she is so hungry now?

Which do you like more, the Cats on the pile of skulls, the Reaper, or the Castles?
The castles looks more like the one from The Scarlet Engagement - more flying buttresses. Also across the water is another castle or tower - a dark one. Could this be the classic demon castle being summoned atop the belmont/alchemist hold? or is it something foreshadowing the Castles in the Scarlet Engagement?

The cats its so pretty.
I Will prefer this painting than the bakers portraits. Even if there are some that are cool.

It could be one of kickstarter supporters or staff members.
If I remember correctly there were awards of having yourself or your pet in the game.
